Yo folks! Here's what we've been up to this week!
Starting with a word from Vixel!
8/20 weekly update:
Heya floofs, happy new week! <3
Took a break from TFOL to attend a furry convention over the weekend. It was a blast and gave me a nice motivation boost! ^w^
In the surrounding days, I've continued upgrading various TFOL scripts to use all that new database stuff I highlighted a few weeks back! As mentioned last update, I have a bit more code to update than I anticipated. But closing in on the prize!
Currently upgraded these areas! Minimal cleanup work remaining:
- database layer (the huge upgrade)
- inventory-related scripts
- spawners for each forest area
Still need to finish upgrading these! I have some progress already in each:
- the database loader (the "glue" between database and game scripts)
- dialogue and dates scheduling scripts for critters
- chapter select
- savestate and movie unlocks
And there's a few extra todos to finalize the Adventures integration at the end of that. I'll keep coding strong, and let you know! <3

On my end, I've been dabbling in a few areas. Our next chunk of content will reveal a new small area, and batch of new side characters! Mabel's tribe! I was struggling coming up with some of these designs, but I've settled on some fun designs pretty recently, so I had to adapt those designs to the next animation, the mouse portraits, and mouse sprites! AAAND update the mice dialogue I had written a while ago. Still got a little bit of that to do.

Other then that, I've been dabbling with a few other things:
- Discord updates! - I updated the way our custom colors work, so I could finally clean out our custom color roles, and FIIINALLY get the stupid permissions to properly work for the discord channels lmao. Next, I need to get a better auto-mod thing going on. Can't be that hard to get something to notice when someone is spamming bullshit.
- Obsidian Updates! - Obsidian is our non-linear writing process. But it's been recently looking NASTY with a TON of documents. It was becoming an absolute mess. Navigating it was a pain in the ass, and honestly made writing stuff a slog. But, now with a better UI skin, I've been able to get more colors/visuals to help with organization! Small, but SUPER important.

- Aside from all that, i was doing some sketches/designs for an eventual TFOL minigame :> Once act 4 is finished, act 5/postgame will feature a lot of fun lil mini games. I wanted minigames/features that are familiar, but uniquely done. They've been on the doc for years, but only in the past couple months have I come up with unique/fresh ways of going about these mini games :> SO EXCITED FOR THE FUTUREEEE AHH. I need to kinda hold these to my chest still because I don't wanna hype up something we can't end up putting in. But i'm like, PRETTY DANG SURE we're gonna make these happen x)
I think that's about it. I'll be going to Montana this weekend to visit my sister. But once I'm back I'll be finishing up this month's 3D animation loop :>
