Request Stream Thoughts
Added 2015-10-10 01:35:08 +0000 UTCI mentioned this on dA but figured I'd post here too, to see about getting more feedback.
So next month I'm thinking of switching out the inked images for sketch request streams, however, I've heard of these not going well in the past with other artists and I don't want to cause any misgivings for my patrons. The basics I'm thinking of:
1. Streams will be held at a consistent time each week, likely Friday evenings.
2. You will have to attend the stream and prove you are a patron to have a chance at an image.
3. Sketches will be posted to Patreon after the stream ends.
4. Sketches can be finished as inked or painted commission at a discount.
5. There may be selection pools for all patrons and another for only higher paying patrons, so that likelihood of getting a sketch is somewhat proportional to getting a sketch? It might just be that the high pool is drawn from only once per stream.
6. Currently thinking streams will be a minimum of two hours long, with the goal of 4 requests per stream.
7. As of yet I haven't had much trouble with declined payments or such, but down the line it may end up being that your payment for the most recent billing time must have processed by the time of the stream to get a sketch.
Any feedback, concerns, or questions are welcome. Are request streams a good idea? Would it be better to stick with the inked images? What about rearranging to focus more on sequential art? etc etc

I think it would be an interesting idea. I like the idea if I get a sketch, I can later upgrade it at a discount. =) The only problem I would have is that Fridays are not good for me. Unless it happens before or after work. @_@ But this is for all Patreons so whatever time works the best for them =D One thing that is nice about the stream requests is people getting their ideas made without relying on people agreeing with them on a poll. =3
