April news update on the state of the game...
Added 2021-04-01 20:03:50 +0000 UTCHey everyone, with the new month here I wanted to do a quick update on game progress and where things will be going next. Also wanted to discuss the new patreon strech goal we reached as well.
Starting with the game, I'm glad several people enjoyed the new release of the abandoned temple build. That said there are still a few bugs that I will have to work out, especially the missing image bugs. As of this post a fellow game developer currently has the build and is working on some maps. The way the rpg maker program works only allows one developer to work on the build at a time so once he is finished with some new maps, I'll jump back in finish bug fixing the build and put out a final release for this version.
My plan next for seeds is to work in the desert area by adding in some new questlines for new characters that have been commissioned as well as add in a whole new dungeon (The pyramid) that will feature some ghost/spirit preg puzzles. I also plan to finish the quest log as well as update some existing quests such as the cowgirls and lily the slime. I can't say when it will come out but hopefully it isn't as long as a wait compared to the last release.
Now on the patreon news, this last month we have reached a new strech goal! With the $300 mark, I can now look into developing some scene art for the game. I'll put up a poll here for patrons only to vote on what scene in the game they would love to see art of and have it appear in game at that scene. That said however, I will have to find an artist to commission the art. Scene art is quite a bit more involved compared to just drawing a single character so.... essentially I can't guarantee it will be completed on a monthly basis. So my plan is once the vote is complete, I will find an artist and get the commission going. Once the commission is complete, I then will start the process over again. The most commissions I will do for scene art would be one a month should it end up faster then I think but likely expect maybe every month and a half or so.
The other thing that is in a similar boat is the hyperpregnancy art. I do have a commission out for Princess Penelope but like for many popular hyprerpregnancy artist, there is a bit of a wait time. I will be doing a similar set up with hyperpregnancy art as well were I will set up a new vote when the art is complete with a max of one per month. I apologize for the wait on said artwork but I wanted to go through artist that I know do quality work. That means that sometimes I have to wait a bit for said work to be completed.
Also wanted to talk about the next tier goal, the animations for the sprite walking and such. Someone was kind enough to purchase the animation software for me in which I plan to look into how it works. One thing I want to preface is while I have some examples of the animation software working for rpg maker games, I have no idea how involved it will be and what it will take. Should we reach that goal, I will try my best to incorporate said software into the game, however things might not be as easy as I want it to be. Also in a similar boat as above, I don't know if I could do monthly animation art updates but I can give updates on how progress goes with that software. Depending on the difficulty of the software or if I run into some major issues, I may have to change it to npcs only who get animations or last resort pull the plug on the whole animation idea. In the event that happens, I will add a new stretch goal here that hopefully would fit for something in the $500 category. Wanted to put this out there since this would be new territory for me and it might not go as well as I would like it too.
Again, I appreciate everyone here supporting the game. I as a new developer, I am surprised the game has grown this much and has over a 100 patrons who are supporting me. With that said, I plan to do a bonus poll this month in regards to adding some unique enemies to the game. Likely I will do more bonus polls in the future should the patron number grow, with the next one at 150 patrons. Thanks!

Just to throw 2 cents in: I'd be fine if rewards weren't necessarily based on a strict monthly timeline. They could be more an ongoing thing where when one piece is nearing completion, you post a poll for the next piece. This would also avoid creating some massive backlog that might not be completed in a timely manner.
