Rogue-Like 1.54c (and Thanksgiving update)

I probably should have gotten a version c out sooner, sorry for anyone waiting on it, but I guess I thought version b was ok and fixes could wait for version 1.6. If you agree on that, then you don't need to download this one, because it doesn't add new content or anything, and version 1.6 shouldn't be that far out, hopefully a few weeks. Since I am hard at work on 1.6, I'm a bit worried I slipped in some code that could cause new bugs (nothing fun, just a misaligned variable or something), but hopefully not. Good luck!
I have been hard at work, of course, I have Wanda's sprite mostly finished, I have her base code/writing like 80% finished (basic social interactions, relationship stuff, etc.), and I have Rogue's 69 pose mostly finished as well. I always say "mostly" because I tend to get them to a near-finished state and then give them some time to rest, so that hopefully I can realize what awful mistakes I've made and fix them before their actual release. So there are still bits and bobs to do before they're done, but they are shaping up well. I've also made a bit of an optimization that should simplify the relationship scenes a little bit and reduce some sluggishness when moving between locations.
Thank you guys for your continued support, and sorry I sometimes don't post an update for a while, I just get into a loop where it's been a while since the last one, and so I don't post one now. The best time to post an update was last week, the second best time is never. :D You can always post a question in one of these threads though, and I do try to respond to it.
All that out of the way, what's new for 1.54?
- Missionary and 69 poses for Doreen.
- Halloween costumes for Betsy and Doreen.
- A change to where girls might be more forward in a conversation, if they are that far along in the relationship.
- A "sexy photo" addition to the flirt menu over the phone.
- A few optimizations to some checks that were intended to speed up scene changes, we'll see how that does.

As a suggestion, maybe it doesn't have to be holiday themed outfits but more like seasonal wear? Ugly sweaters, wool scarves, or silly beanies and the like? It's not necessarily the sexiest or most revealing of clothing, but it could be cute.

I know you already have a workload of things to take care of, but i do have some cute suggestions for future content, if you'll hear me out. I think for a player's new nickname option, it would be so wholesome to have the girls call you "husband." just a thought, it just feels so cozy for your girlfriend to be clingy and act like you are a married couple. Then, for flirting, i think it would be a cute feature to poke a girls belly button as a tease. Depending on relationships and which girls you use it on. Like, Kitty and Rogue can have girlish ticklish reactions, others like Emma or Storm will just have an awkward, comedic reaction. But if you are already max level with them, maybe it can just arouse them slightly?

2024-12-07 05:49:46 +0000 UTCI've thought about it. The Halloween event serves a bit of a double purpose, as it adds a lot of evergreen costume pieces that you can slot into their daily wardrobe. If they had like santa hats or something, it would be a cute seasonal thing, but not exactly something you'd wear all year. I could maybe just add "winter" to the game, snowy scenes, but I don't know how much it would add. Some gifts would be nice. I mean, there's potential, but I don't have immediate plans.

Still, no guarantees, if it's too much, it's too much, and there's is that penalty for trying. She tried to do more, but couldn't, these are the chances you take.

I tend to have most of them tag you in their intros to sort of get that option rolling, but I could make it a more optional thing, or at least make it a lot less of a problem early on. I do still want to intro all the girls in relatively short order, but I can downplay how much they will actively seek you out without you first seeking them out. Ok, here's what I'll do, I'll try to work in a story beat option so that when it would cause a tag to take place, you can prevent that, and I -think- so long as you don't touch them in any way, they shouldn't bother you too much. They will be around, but not in ways you can't brush past easily enough.

2024-12-03 03:23:15 +0000 UTCJust some thoughts, but I kind of wish I could tell some of the girls to go away without being mean about it... The biggest offender is Jubilee because of her condition. Gwen is the runner-up for the sheer amount of dialogue she has with everyone. Rogue/Kitty end up doing it too because you're forced to let them touch you. Most of the time I start a new game and pick a girl I'm fancying at the moment (I'm all about monogamy), and don't really want to be unnecessarily bothered by all the others because of the story. This is probably a consequence of the game expanding well beyond Rogue since it's initial development. Now there are so many girls, having to deal with them all every new game can be tiring. I guess what I'm saying is it might be a good time to re-evaluate how the game plays/flows, sort of... rather than a single "two week story" that introduces all the girls, they could already be at the school. Could still have Rogue give the tour, and each girl could have their own small storyline and development for their relationship. Obviously that would be quite a lot of work, and all this can be kinda mitigated by just making a save at a certain point... but again, just a thought.

Yeah, "resizing the window" might have some effect, but it seemed so "woo-woo" that I didn't want to promote the idea. I wonder if there's some way in the code I could force a minute window re-size every now and then, just to freshen things up. Btw, from the sounds of it, you're playing in full screen mode? I always play in windowed, maybe try that for a bit and see if the issues go away.

While it's an available option in the offhand actions menu, the standard BJ action does not have access to that menu. I'll fix that, it wasn't intended.

It's nice, but feels lack luster, cause their didn't seem to be anyway of pleasuring the girl, making it a blowjob position where the girl is just blowing you while on top. If possible, do you think you could add options for licking and finger the girl under the other options menus?

I made a tweak for the next version that might help, or do nothing, or make things worse maybe, but at least it will be worth a shot. It's tricky to troubleshoot these memory issues when it seems to be at least somewhat hardware related and difficult to replicate (for people not already seeing it). I just have to send a version out and hope for the best.

2024-11-29 20:58:36 +0000 UTCOdd. I've been getting more and more out of memory reports with more recent versions, but I'm not sure why, beyond that the game is just bigger than it used to be. Both of these seem to have occurred when trying to load very basic art assets that have been in the game forever, so it's not being directly triggered by something new, but might be caused by some new animation or something taking up all the space. Were these bugs after playing for a while in a continuous session, or shortly after loading the game? Was this on a recently started fresh start playthrough, or on a longer-running playthrough?
