Behind the scenes EP7 Printing large ABS things... no problem!

Hi guys how are you doing? It couldn't have gone much better over here. I cannot believe that I have a printer which prints ABS with a 1.2mm nozzle without any problems. It's a euphoric feeling, especially after this amount off work. Your support has helped so much! In this video I show where I'm currently at and yes, printing rims is getting very close now. I will keep you posted and let me know if you have any questions by commenting or by leaving a message on Discord.

Have an awesome day!

Thank you Jon. Good luck my friend

Yes, and I've seen the video of 3PN, super interesting! Fortunately my new filament sponsor has there materials too https://www.3d4makers.com/products/peek-filament I'm so happy that they sponsor my project and because they're Dutch communication goes quick and easy.

Its designed for PEI, PEEK, PPSU, NYLON & CARBON

Have you tried this new Nano Polymer Adhesive? its from www.visionminer.com. They print with all the exotic polymers like PEEK and had this Polymer Adhesive designed for working with very high temperatures and difficult materials. They print items for NASA Aerospace worth a look. 3D Printing Nerd has an episode on a visit to there facility.

Yes, all files have been downloaded to STEP files and I will not get rid of my account so I can export it to Fusion format as well. My license is almost due and I will export the most important files to Fusion format asap. You'll always have access to the files I've designed using Fusion, even I don't use it anymore.

Jon so happy for you, your perseverance has paid off. You mentioned you've managed to gain access to your fusion files. Will you be making them available before the big switch over to Vari-cad?

Andy Wright

Thanks David. I use regular glass cleaner. This works like a charm if you apply it after the bed is cooled down a bit. The bed can be cleaned directly afterwards.

Awesome work, man. I'm so looking forward to what comes next. Btw: what was it you sprayed on the bed to get the print to release?

Thanks! Good luck, I'm curious what you'll find out!

Here's the link. They do bond really nice and the point of fusion seems to be quite strong. I'm just playing to see what these combinations can do....

Yes, valve stem was the word I was looking for xD I'm going fuse them together like the guy in this video did, but without the flame https://youtu.be/gyMvT61mYPY I'm going to modify that screw by making the gap wide enough for the filament. I'll keep the small bowden tube piece on it so I can hold it there while spooling it.

Wow that's interesting! I haven't seen that before. Thanks for mentioning, maybe this is an interesting product for me to use in the future. I have used the combination of ABS and TPU too at work. I've printed that with an Ultimaker and the result was pretty good. These two materials bond perfectly. Cool that you're playing around with this!

Glad it's printing. Look forward to seeing how rims print... Mosaic Pro S is an interesting way of combining different colour and types of filament, I'm playing around with this at present and am getting interesting results with ABS and TPU amongst other filaments.

Is that the valve stem that you were holding that you didn't know the english name of? For your filament joiner, are you going to just fuse the ends together in the makeshift hot end and then pull the whole roll through it after?
