Dumb Poll & Sexy Pinup

Hey, Spirals!

(Still working on that...)

I've got a dumb poll for y'all to day, and as an apology I've included a sexy pinup... as well as a link to a folder with all the Spiraling Shape 4K Pinups. It's this. This is the link.

Good?

Okay, now to the dumb poll!

I'm organizing all my 4K Blu Rays and have a question regarding the MCU. Yes, for those who are new and may not know, I love the MCU, warts and all. I also love Marvel comics over DC, but Batman has and always will be my favorite Superhero, so I'm praying James Gunn does this reset for DC right. Anyway!

When organizing the MCU, should I:

Great question. Normally, I organise alphabetically, but group movies from the same story arc together, e.g., 'First Blood' and 'Rambo', then organise chronologically or by release date depending on how the storyline in one film depends on previous releases. If the story arc for a prequel relies on knowledge from earlier releases, then you have to go by release date. If later prequels can stand alone and add context for the earlier releases that change or enhance their meaning, like 'Rogue One', perhaps for the original 'Star Wars' trilogy, I would go chronologically. With the MCU, however, with so many interweaving story arcs and overlaps of characters, it's probably best to go by release date and I would include all the other content from other studios that may give context to the characters from the MCU. There may be references in later MCU movies, like the 'Deadpool' movies, which refer to events in the movies from other studios. Personally, I grew up with the DC characters in the 'Superman', 'Batman', 'Wonder Woman', 'Shazam' and 'Isis' TV shows, and 'Super Friends' cartoons (plus 'Spiderman' cartoons and movie, 'Incredible Hulk' TV show and 'Fantastic Four' cartoons). I was heavily in swimming by the time the 'Uncanny X-Men' cartoon show started, so I missed most of the Marvel comeback and wasn't familiar with most of the characters until the Marvel movies started. I didn't really know what Marvel was before then, so I had a lot of research to do.

ALWAYS go by release date. (And I think DC and Marvel are about to switch places in the larger cultural conversation.)

Matt Sampson

Another thought would be to group them by main character: Iron Man Captain America Thor Spider-Man Etc.

Faye Fatale

Theatrical release. It’ll be a lot simpler.
