Writing Article - Writing a Romance

Have you ever wanted to write a story or fiction piece about romance? It's one of the biggest markets, whether you're an aspiring novelist or a Fanfiction writer. There are plenty of things to remember however, and the attached goes through many of them.

This isn't an article on how to write love, or how to fall in love. But how to structure, plan and execute a romantic story. It offers real-life examples, including some of my own works you might be familiar with.

If there's any questions or whatnot, feel free to comment below and I'll answer them when I can.

Happy reading,

I realize this is over a year spent already, but I've only just now read this article and find it applies to something I'm writing. It's a series of short stories about two characters who are initially antagonistic, but gradually grow to have a closer (if still vitriolic) friendship. Now, my conundrum is that I find it following the 7 beats to some extent, and I'm inclined to use that structure. But it is not intended to be romantic--their relationship was never mapped to be more than very closely platonic, even if that relationship IS the subject of the stories. My question then is, can the 7 beats apply cleanly to relationships that are not romantic? Or is there another structure that tends to fit platonics better?
