Futa Luna Behind the Scenes

A big thanks to Gavin, a member of my discord, who made the 3D model of the bladder for the Patreon exclusive.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This was a very challenging project.

When I released my commissioned Pharah animation, I wasn’t sure how my audience would react, especially since it was the first time I introduced some worm action.

Fortunately, the reception was overwhelmingly positive, matching the excitement I felt while creating it. Many viewers requested more worm action in the future, so here we are.

Luna was not the first character I had in mind. If you were a member of my public Discord, you might recall I hinted at using the futa character from Yakuza, specifically Seiko. Her model was impressive, especially her “hotdog,” but when I started working with her, I ran into numerous problems.

To cut it short, Seiko’s model simply wasn’t suitable for worm action. I think she would be better suited for a tentacle-themed animation instead. What made things worse was that I had already built an environment that took a lot of time and had positioned Seiko within the scene. Everything was set up, I only needed to animate. I was 100% sure I would use her model, but in the end, I had to scrap the idea.

Not only that, but the environment I created didn’t fit Seiko either, which I only realized once everything came together. The setting resembled a Resident Evil-style laboratory with very sci-fi lighting, which is completely unlike the Yakuza game’s aesthetic.

Realizing all this was a hard blow. All those days spent building something felt wasted. I gave myself a day to rethink my approach, stressed that time was slipping away and I wasn’t even halfway done.

Ultimately, I scrapped Seiko entirely but saved the environment for future projects and moved on to create something new.

Then I remembered a DM I received on Twitter asking when I would feature characters from The First Descendant. The female characters in that game are clearly designed for a male audience, which made them a good fit for my style.

So, I downloaded the model of Hailey, who I believe is the poster girl of that game. I don’t actually play the game.

I built another environment from scratch, keeping the core idea of worm action. I decided to return to my roots and create another biomass scene, which eventually became the final animation.

However, I ran into another major issue, Hailey’s model. I had positioned her well in the scene. Her pose, the tentacle restraining her, her “hotdog,” everything looked great. But when it came time to animate, I discovered the model was too high-poly, resulting in a sluggish 3fps which is abysmal for animation. While I know there are ways to optimize models for better performance, I wasn’t familiar with those methods yet and didn’t have time to learn them. I had no choice but to find a suitable replacement and start the process over.

That’s when I came across Luna’s model, created by keyd10iori.

I’ve used keyd10iori’s models a lot of times because they’re beginner-friendly and easy to work with.

Using Luna’s model was quite an experience. I found her very attractive. Her features and hairstyle align with one of the things I find appealing in a woman’s appearance. To keep it brief, I repeated the entire setup process I did for Hailey with Luna and prepared her for animation.

Adding a tentacle going up her mouth and bottom was an enhancement for the public version. I had saved the full-on worm action for a Patreon-exclusive version, so forgive me for holding that back.

Those added tentacles in the public version, however, felt like they added spice to the animation—similar to the x-ray view in the paid version, which also features an entirely new scene.

The challenges didn’t end there. The Patreon-exclusive version with the x-ray required precise timing for the worm invasion—the worm entering and the delay before it appears in the x-ray view. I reached out to Gavin, a friend from my Discord who created the bladder model I used for Bowsette, and asked him to modify it to fit the worms going inside.

Implementing the bladder x-ray from the Bowsette animation was relatively straightforward since it involved a single tentacle going straight up. But for Luna, it was much more complex.

Each individual worm had its own path inside Luna’s bladder, meaning I had to set specific trajectories for each one and carefully monitor them to avoid clipping. It was mentally exhausting.

I won’t prolong this further by listing every challenge I faced. I’ve only mentioned the major ones. I’m glad I was able to piece everything together despite the obstacles, and I hope everyone enjoys watching!

For me, putting in the extra effort to create different variations for the public and paid versions adds value to both audiences. Free viewers can still enjoy my animations without having to pay, while those who are paid, of course, will get something new and perhaps a little extra.

Thank you all for your support. I have one final commission to complete, and until then, billing will remain paused.

Much appreciated Yes! They're not on here because I used to do commissioned animations before I got my patreon, so you can find all of them on my X. https://x.com/KarniktusAnims
