Chapter 854: Still Not In The Starting Lineup?
Added 2025-07-18 09:15:20 +0000 UTCHarris approached Su Luo. “But remember, there are no shortcuts on the football field. Hard training is an indispensable part of success.”
Su Luo nodded seriously.
“I fully understand, coach. I’ll work even harder to improve my strength.”
Harris patted him on the shoulder with satisfaction.
“Very good, Su Luo. Next, we’ll create a highly targeted training plan to help you reach your best condition before the match.”
In the following days, Harris established a close working relationship with Su Luo.
They discussed training goals and detailed stage-by-stage plans, ensuring Su Luo could perform at his best during competitions.
The coach’s encouragement and guidance gave Su Luo more confidence.
He knew that only by constantly pushing beyond his limits and pursuing progress could he fully unleash his potential on the field and overcome any challenge.
“Coach Harris, I’ll follow the plan carefully,” Su Luo said seriously. “I’ll treat every training session as an opportunity.”
Harris smiled and nodded.
“Very good, Su Luo. I believe you can do it.”
He turned to leave the medical room.
“Now, get some rest. Training starts tomorrow.”
Watching Harris’s retreating figure, Su Luo felt a surge of determination.
He knew that proving himself through action mattered more than any words.
Just then, Ferdinand Klaus hurried into the locker room, looking slightly excited.
Nikos Pereira and Su Luo were preparing their gear.
Noticing Ferdinand’s expression, Nikos asked curiously, “What’s wrong, Ferdy? Do you have good news?”
Ferdinand smiled and nodded.
“Yes, I do. The head coach has decided to let you start.”
Nikos’s eyes widened in shock.
“Really? That’s great! I didn’t expect to get this opportunity. Thanks for telling me, Ferdy!”
“You’re welcome,” Ferdinand replied with satisfaction. “You’ve performed really well in training. The coach spoke highly of you.”
While they chatted excitedly, Su Luo stood quietly to the side, his expression slightly downcast.
He knew he hadn’t been in top form in the last match, but he had still hoped for a chance to prove himself.
Hearing that Nikos would start, he couldn’t help feeling disappointed.
“Su Luo, are you alright?” Ferdinand noticed his strange expression.
Su Luo forced a smile.
“It’s nothing. I’m just… a little surprised.”
He took a deep breath and tried to steady himself.
“But congratulations, Nikos.”
Sensing Su Luo’s disappointment, Nikos walked over and gently patted him on the shoulder.
“Thank you, Su Luo. You’ve always been my role model. Starting this match is just one step toward my dream—but we’re still a team.”
Su Luo felt Nikos’s genuine encouragement and silently wished him success.
He reminded himself that, as the team’s core player and leader on the pitch, he couldn’t let negative emotions sway him.
Whether he started or came on as a substitute, as long as he could contribute to the team, it was enough.
Ferdinand watched the interaction between the two young players and noticed that Su Luo’s aura had subtly shifted—now carrying a tougher, more determined edge.
He knew this decision might affect Su Luo emotionally, but he also believed it would be a valuable experience for his growth.
“Alright, get ready to head out,” Ferdinand said calmly.
