Chapter 1774 - What Price?

Comments

Because of the cost. And they wouldn't have had monopoly for long. Once word spread others would invade no matter what. And if the other powers failed enough, the Ants would risk turning the entire world against them. Because why keep buying when they can all invade the ants instead and take it? The ants would stand no chance of invading the fifth, defending what they have there, and defending against the Legion, Silver City, Stone Empire and whatever other Empires and powers would choose to get involved. The Ants are powerful, very much so. But they are not so strong they can solo all of this world's powers at once. Better to willingly share and lower the astronomical cost the invasion currently has. And astronomically lower the potential chance of lives being lost and corrupted. And astronomically lower the amount of time it would take. Keeping it all for themselves would have been stupid.

Idk, why is it so important to get the rest of the world involved? I feel like so long as the colony can keep essentially a monopoly on the 5th and lower travel they should. The legion doesn’t let anybody else go lower so the colony can completely control everything without giving up anything. If they need more help they can just buy it or build it. Having a monopoly on keeping world leaders alive would have been much more powerful and should only have been relinquished if absolutely necessary.

Silent Consent

That would destroy the supply line. If a human invasion disrupted the ant's invasion of the 5th, they could lose their foothold in the 5th overnight, meaning no more elixir. If anything, the ants are untouchable until others secure a means to get it themselves.

ZaneofBane

I think there is a miscalculation here. The other way if they can't buy it isn't to invade the fifth; it would be to attack the colony and take it from them

Black Rose

I finally realized why purification makes the base parts stronger. What happens to your immune system when it fights off an infection successfully the first time? That's right, it remembers it and prepares. So of course the Chal and Anthony would be the perfect counter. They've developed immunity.

Now that I think about it, the zombie fungus makes a whole lot sense.

R.E. McCoy

Absolutely love this, what a great move

ChillyPepper

Well it's not eternal youth as taking too much of it will mutate you. And I do not think that amount of time will reduce built up. So eventually you are going to turn something else entirely. It's something like Spice from Dune. Take enough of it and you become a space slug.

Anthony Romanov

It's just business -Merchant explaining to Solant how she recruited an army.

UNKNOWN

The eldest is a small boy in a tier 8 mythic body with no desire for money...she could use her skills till the cows come home and it would be like screaming at a mountain for it to bow

Nathan Quitugua

Oh that is an interesting twist that I did not anticipate. I figured the colony would try to maintain it’s stranglehold on the internal youth elixir. I was surprised that merchant didn’t demand the recognition as a sapient race (or whatever the tunnel ball demand was back when the mc was evolving). Do hope we get some perspectives from the other powers moving forward. Somehow I doubt they will have as easy a time as the colony

Shaitan

20%!?!?,the eldest whold have made it to 15 by sheer sturbones.

eryos

Thanks for the chapter! Thats a great way to get nations moving, which ruler wouldn't spend ungodly amounts of money and blood for immortality.
