I liked Tokyo Ghoul when it came out, but then I read the manga after hearing a bunch of people complaining about it when I was older, and man... Masterpiece. Same for me with Classroom of the Elite and a couple other shows, but outside the case of an adaptation butchering the source material, I sometimes will read ahead, depending on how much I like it. For example, when Season 1 of Vinland Saga finished, I went to read the manga, and when Re:Zero Season 1 finished, I went and read the light novels. I've been caught up on all of those ever since, and IMO, it's really cool seeing what I remember being animated nowadays. It can be a double-edged sword, though, because they will cut some things that can make you annoyed. Thankfully, that is rarely the case for me since the ones I read ahead on have stellar adaptations. Well, some people complain about the huge content cuts from Re:Zero Season 1, but it's so good outside of that that most people don't mind. Not to mention nostalgia bias, since that's what a lot of people experienced first for the series, and so they won't read the source material for what they first watched. That's an interesting one in particular, and surprisingly common, now that I think about it. But I digress. Fun anime, Solo Leveling. It's not groundbreaking or anything for me, but it is solid. I enjoyed the music the most, I think. I put some of it on my playlist, actually, lol. Would definitely give it a 10/10, too. Hiroyuki Sawano never misses!!!

2025-04-17 00:14:56 +0000 UTCThe studio who animated this was A1 the same studio who gave us Sword art online. And yeah while not quite demon slayer/Jujutsu they did a bang up job overall. Also the anime music was composed by Sawano the same guy who did the music for Attack on titan so yeah that tracks, banger music for both shows.
