SO hype for season 2!!!

By the way, you guys love D&D-type stuff, so I'd recommend Delicious in Dungeon, which excels at those tropes, worldbuilding especially. It aired around Frieren and was another 10/10 for me.

I've enjoyed your guys' reactions to Frieren. This has quickly become one of my favorite, if not my favorite, anime. I love the music, the animation, the characters, and the world they've created. I like how they place as much importance on the small things in life as they do on the momentous occasions. I enjoy action-packed shows as much as anyone, but the relaxing/cozy slice-of-life-type anime are a guilty pleasure of mine. This show strikes a certain balance between those two that really resonates with me. It almost reminds me of a Ghibli film, how they depict the beauty in everyday life while going on magic-filled journeys. It's a thoughtful, endearing, cozy, and chill adventure with some fun and even epic moments along the way. I'm glad you decided to watch it. Can't wait for season 2!

Aside from the guy who went by himself at the beginning of the second test, I found no reason to dislike any other test-taker. The survivors of the second test were all mages who accepted to work together to avoid casualties and guarantee that most of them could pass, nobody tried to sabotage others or anything. Even Richter kinda grew on me, mostly thanks to Denken's attitude towards him that showed him there were better ways to approach the tests than being purely pragmatic. They also didn't feel like simple side characters, and didn't overshadow the main characters at the same time, so it was easier to connect with them and appreciate them. That's some really great character writing. EDIT : I also love the way this whole arc, and especially this episode, is actually centered around showing how much the party of Heroes and their actions have changed the world, not just by defeating the Demon King, but also by helping and inspiring others throughout the entire journey. An era of peace brought simply by the defeat of evil wouldn't have looked the same, and even the most simple quests were very important, as now people are more compassionate, and setting off in an adventure to save people or help them with menial tasks is actually something that children dream of. Of course, as was often said and shown in the show, history is eventually forgotten, but it still helped a huge number of people and that's what matters.

Frieren is amazing. I watched it all with my Dad. It reminded us a lot of Lord of the Rings, especially with the themes of good vs evil. He didn't enjoy the show as much as I did, more so with the lighter parts, and that's fair, given his inclinations toward more action-heavy shows, but given the setup and premise, I think Frieren is one of a kind and perfectly executes on its uniqueness. My only critique would be that every arc follows a similar, predictable formula. Because of that, if I had to compare it to something else that I think is also pretty much perfect, like Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood, then I couldn't rate Frieren above it. Granted, one is completed and the other isn't lol, but for now, I'd say Frieren is my lowest 10/10.
