The subtitles weren't wrong in the beginning. He said "boku no namae wa..." which translates to "my name is...". The confusion is understandable though, because "boku" sounds similar to Puck in Japanese.

The archbishops came after their deaths (or sealing in Satella's case), taking their places and authority. This backstory with Emilia took place a little over a hundred years ago.
