She's the only one he's sure will outlive him and he actively hopes that she lives on and carries on his memory to a better future. What a finale for the first cour. Also one thing to keep in mind is that, when possible, the Legion will try to stop themselves from destroying the brains of their targets (they need them in order to multiply and evolve). So not confirming if our main crew is dead or alive after that battle, but if you see a body laying on the ground and the person isn't covered in blood or actively missing body parts, they are most likely just unconscious (so 50/50 shot if our crew were unconscious when they showed them on the ground, or just straight up dead, most likely from blunt trauma). Which is also bad for them bc they can be then taken and killed by the Legion off screen. I'll have a LOT to talk about in the next episode, as its the first episode of the second cour. The first cour is based on the very first light novel in the series, which originally had an epilogue (which later becomes the last episode, episode 23) as it was meant to be a one-shot, but the author decided to continue it past that. The second cour combines the 2nd and 3rd light novels + the 1st volume's epilogue. In total, the LNs are currently at 11 or 12 volumes so there is much more to be adapted in future seasons!
