Gary & Pit 3 (Full + All Sketches)

Heyy everyone!!
It's finally done!! 🥳 It's been six years since the last part, I can't believe it 😅
And I don't know much to comment, cause I don't want to spoil anything now. But as you'll see with the last pages, this also won't be the end. I'm sure it wont take thaaat long this time, but for now I really want to draw and work on something else, and I already have plans on what 😏

Some additional background notes on my thought process of the story - I guess it's best to read after you're done reading the comic.
There've been a lot of ideas and changes during this whole process. I remember when I first created the four green characters, besides Pit, I initially planned them to each have their own adventure. When I started this part, I quickly realized that it wouldn't be too easy to follow that plan, as it wouldn't feel natural to suddenly have Gene and Harold separated. I thought that at least Gene takes the most focus this time in contrast to Harold who had his moments in Gary and Pit 2, so it's fine conceptwise. So then my initial plan was to have Drake set a trap for Gary. He was supposed to be a bad guy, that is lead by his primal instincts. Since he's supposed to embody a corpse plant, the idea was that he'll be the one luring Gary in, intending to devour him, and Bill would have been the one that gets Drake back to his senses by overpowering his rotten smell. But then I had a problem - as Gary is human and not a silly fly, how in the hell would Drake be able to entice Gary? 😂 That's when I knew I needed a different plan. As Bill is a rose character, he would be able to do exactly that, but it wouldn't fit his personality. And Drake and Bill were supposed to be a duo, since i think the contrast between a rose and a corpse flower is too good to miss out on. But if Drake uses Bills smell to lure in prey, Bill wouldn't be the type to agree to that. So that's when I had to came up with the slime guy. And honestly, it was back to completely improvising when I wrote that part 😅
I was so relieved when I got the idea to use a lighter as his weakness, cause at first didn't know how to resolve that situation. I'm such a bad writer honestly, but it worked well enough at the end, i guess - i hope 🤣 To the lore dump at the end i have to say - it had to happen at some point. I'm never sure if it's a good idea, cause I feel like it might bite me later on, when I miss or missremember some plot points in the future that I've laid the foundation for now. But it's also better to have references, so it doesn't feel like everything happens at random all the time. Anyways, if you've read till here, thank you very much!
