Halfway Through The Woods

Another personal drawing in between commissions. I got the phrase "halfway through the woods" stuck in my head, probably due to the musical Into The Woods in all honesty. I wanted to make a fun illustration that used a different colour palete than I tend to (it's often joked about how often I like to use autumnal colours) and force myself into doing backgrounds more.

I enjoy organic backgrounds, if that makes sense. Landscapes, shots of nature. Doing cityscapes and structures I find to be hard work due to angles, sharp straight lines, making interesting architecture etc. That said, I liked the idea of having a urban silhouette in the background played quite well with the phrase. Foxes are practically the king of living between the boundaries of both worlds, so having a fox trot through the picture made sense to me. I debated for a while whether to use the original colours or make the fox stand out with the purple.

I took the plunge and opened up a shop on spreadshirt.com to allow folks to buy shirts/hoodies/merch, to go alongside redbubble. This design, along with others will steadily be added to the catalogue!
