Changes to the Patreon

Hello! I've been discussing the way I've run this patreon with many of you patrons and I've been jumping around a few ideas for how to improve it.

As you are all aware, at the moment I have paused the patreon and am in the middle of tackling the backlog that has built up. And the fact that things get backed up due to having to work and juggling my tiredness makes my anxieties spike up.

I go silent, stop the patreon and work on the backlog. So I thought, let's change this so it better suits both of us!

So what does this mean for you, the patrons?

You still gain access to any drawing I do early, along with work in progress drawings and progression images that I upload onto Patreon. It also means that if I ever make a comic to sell, patrons will receive it for free.

The monthly drawing rewards are now gone, I'm afraid. Instead we have the Piggy Bank.

What is the Piggy Bank?

Treat the patreon like an actual piggy bank, each month you put in as much money as you want. What are you "saving" up for? A commission from me! Patrons will be on a fast track system when it comes to commissions, taking top priority.

After the backlog has cleared and the patreon has restarted, all the patrons will be set at £0.00. When you want to break open the piggy bank, is entirely up to you! For example

Want a sketch commission? A £15 donation tier gets you that every month! For those that pay £10 a month, you can get a sketch commission in 2 months and leave £5 left in the piggy bank.

My thought process behind this is that this way, you get exactly what you want from me and by its nature, staggers the drawings so they don't come in at once allowing me to draw other things. With this system you can use it to get a commission, or even use it a a tip/donation jar for me! If i do another growth drive for example, you can even use your piggy bank to pour it into that instead!

So What Are The Commission Prices?

These prices are a base guideline of course, depending on the complexity of the picture such as multiple characters, backgrounds, multiple pictures, etc, prices are subject to change. These price changes will be discussed and agreed upon with the commissioner at the time.

I will eventually get a proper commission sheet made that actively shows you the difference between the tiers, it's on my list of things to do!

I hope this sounds good with you all, and I have a spreadsheet system provided by Kim to keep everyone's balances in check! What are your thoughts?

Comments

I think this is pretty good, it provides incentive to those going low and anyone going high doesn't have to wait for some incentive or some such to get the big stuff. I think it's pretty okay!
