Ius'tia Design Progression

This was the design progress for Ius'tia's design! When I first originally started this project, I drew a basis for a generic justice goddess. I liked some ideas but it felt rather simple. I decided that I would come back to it, so a few god designs later, I chose to tackle her again.

I tried a complete redesign, my idea was that i wanted her face to be obscured in some way. I ditched the scarf, saving it for postibly another god, but i liked the idea of the hat. So I expanded upon that and wanted an oversized brim of a hat.

At this point, I had this image of a lady sitting from all high, looking below and judging with a set of scales. I referenced a sitting pose that i felt was interesting and then added this long flowing gown. The sleeves taking inspiration from the original design. I added a gemstone on her chest to reflect her chosen champions Dim and Jaja, how she had given them a gemstone to amplify their attributes.

As a goddess of justice, i imagined then at some point, she'd have to declare a person guilty and sentence them. So i started looking at ornate sword designs and eventually came up with this rapierthat floated beside her. At this point, I liked the general idea and look and feel of this goddess, but her legs were bothering me. She looked too much like a regular human in proportions, albeit with oversized clothing.

So i chose to remove the legs,made the flowing cape/gown into a proper dress and added more markings along her chest to make her seem more ornate. The way the dress hangs seems to imply that she is very tall or even doesnt have legs at all. Moving the rapier into he hands helped to enforce her position. As if her words were final, she carries out the sentence, etc.

I was content to leave it there, I did like the idea of the floating scales.  However i decided to give her these scarves that  come from behind her (likely tied to her hair) that hold the scales up in a reference to the scarf design but also to tie it to other deity designs like Umos
