Added 2024-07-19 20:41:03 +0000 UTCi’m enjoying writing tobio and kaien’s father-son dialogues a lot more than expected!! 😙😙 tobio is such a matter-of-fact person while kaien is a more abstract feeler. 🫨 tobio is concise with his speech which helps kaien see things a lot clearer, while kaien’s no-filter teenage rambling helps tobio figure out where all his struggles are directed towards, while giving tobio time to map out his train of logic! 🤚🚧🚂
this was another extremely tough chapter to write bc i had to really sit down and talk to my younger self for hours lol… 💀💦 then figuring out what kind of advice tobio would give as an adult from not just his own personality, but also how he would deliver said advice that wouldn’t sound too OOC. 😭😭😭 hopefully it delivered smoothly for your reading!!

i was originally following this comic on your ig and it’s been such a fun time reading all your comics from the start again here! i’m love love lovinggg Nao and Kaien’s dynamic as they start to reconnect and i think you depict their internal monologues so so well! (also love all the other love-children making appearances haha) and now it’s papayama’s turn to shine as he deserves🥹 he’s just so thoughtful and soft and to see him being the amazing dad he is just makes me soo emotional T-T i CANNOT wait to see how the rest of this beautiful story will go (whenever you’re ready ofc!) and thank you soo much for all that you’re doing on here! <3

2024-07-31 18:03:31 +0000 UTCI’m living for the papayama and Kaien dynamic here. Kaien presents as a ball of sunshine, but clearly has so many of the socially stunted qualities that Tobio has. He’s just a bit better at hiding them behind the sunshine mask. His reaction of wanting to notice those moments NOW is so real, so in character for him. I live for the ending where Kaien calls Tobio out on putting up walls as much as Tobio calls him out on it.

I personally enjoy the flow and order of that one more. to go from "there is no right answer" to "just the right ppl" etc. If we're talking about parallels to past kageyama, I feel like version a puts an emphasis on the ppl and their impact on kageyama's change. I feel like introducing these ppl and them talking about how they made kageyama feel safe has a nice flow to it. I also like how kaien asks how do u know if it's that moment. It reminds of "the moment you get hooked on volleyball"
