Man, I just watched the third one two days ago and I'm so curious to see how you like each of these in relation to the other. I always love your takes and feel like I'm often on the same or a very similar page as you with how you react to media. Idk why saying that made me remember this, but summer term 2025 I took a public speaking course at the college I work at and for my final, I was dead sick of covering too-serious topics because I get too invested and mental health can only handle so much research into what happens to intersex infants and kids (bad shit!). So I did a persuasive presentation on why everyone should give the TV show Interview with the Vampire a watch, and for one of my final slides, I took little 5 second clips from a handful of reaction channels saying something at the end of s2e8 to make a quick 30s compilation of folks essentially all saying how top-tier the show was despite their usual interests or expectations. I used a quick clip of you saying something along the lines of how it might be beyond any anime, manga, anything you'd seen at that point, and I could tell that little testimonial compilation was THE selling point. One person telling people "hey this show rules and here's why" is nothing, but a diverse group of people with varying interests in media hammering that point in at the end of it all got a real "wow" reaction and my professor ended up watching the show because of it. It was a frivolous use of a final assignment, sure, but I have such a passion for storytelling and sharing stories with others, and I appreciate that you and others put your reactions out there like this because it really does uplift art and drive home a sense of community within this sort of art appreciation. I work in theatre and film at the school and want to teach media analysis if this administration doesn't manage to destroy higher education, so it really does mean the world to me that folks react to filmed media like you do. It's important. It keeps art alive, and it keeps people in discussion about the art.
