I imagine the reason this show didn't get all the love it deserved when it originally aired is because there are several many "what the actual fuck is going on" moments that happen in the first few episodes. I adore this show, but if you never read the graphic novel it can be a lot to jump into. So happy you are watching this.

Watching it with you now, so many years after my first watch, is wonderful. Like slipping back into a favorite pair of PJs.

Rorschach in the original is I guess *technically* a “good guy”, but he’s super fucked up and flawed and holds some really nasty beliefs so it totally makes sense that a group of white supremacists 40 years later could take his manifesto and make it work for them. The monologue in the 7th Kavalry video is a direct riff off of one of his most-quoted edgelord moments: “The streets are extended gutters and the gutters are full of blood and when the drains finally scab over, all the vermin will drown. The accumulated filth of all their sex and murder will foam up about their waists and all the whores and politicians will look up and shout 'SAVE US!'...and I'll look down and whisper 'No.”” They basically just added racist shit to it but otherwise it’s verbatim Rorschach. None of the Watchmen are “good” really, but Rorschach is imo the gnarliest haha.

There is a MAJOR spoiler that comes up whenever you search it, so please be careful. You WILL be confused about a lot of things but, trust the process, the puzzle pieces eventually slip into place, beautifully and magnificently 🫡🤌🏾
