One of my favorite parts is the subtle change in facial expression that these actors use. From the way Mark’s face changes in the elevator depending on whether he’s going to or leaving work, and the way Mrs. Selvig’s face changes when Mark is no longer in her sight at the end of the episode.. so good. I truly hope no one spoils anything for you. Maybe before putting on YouTube put a massive NO SPOILERS IN THE COMMENTS disclaimer in your video?

2024-11-21 03:57:55 +0000 UTCIf you haven’t seen it, Ben Stiller also directed (and starred in) the movie The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, and when I rewatched it after having watched Severance, I noticed sooo many similarities in the framing of different scenes. Aside from that it’s a fun and moving movie. Highly recommend.

I went into this show totally spoiled, both for the concept but some major plot points later, so your blind reactions are such a surprising delight. Not you turning and looking dead into the camera when it cut to him crying in his car 😂😂😂 I laughed out loud. Also silly tidbit: it’s been snowing like crazy where I live so after a LONG day at work, I fought my way home in nightmare snowstorm traffic and immediately sat down to watch this when I walked in, and the immediate “you are a different person at work who only remembers driving there and back on snowy roads” cracked me up so hard. So stoked for this ride, you are dialled in and I’m hype to rewatch this with you and then get in on S2 in the new year. Going to be another IWTV show where sometimes the only thing to say is 👀 🤐 as you work it out.

I always find myself noticing the color palettes and how they differ from location to location -- especially inside Lumon and outside it -- but also specific characters and their clothing, etc. I never noticed the hourglass idea either! So cool. I have seen people say the shot of the parking lot and Lumon from above looks like a bifurcated (I think that's the word I want) brain.
