IWTV S2 EP3 REACTION

IWTV S2 EP3 REACTION

Comments

Louis definitely knows something about Nicki (Lestat has talked about Nicki S1), and he knows that Lestat lived there with him. I'm sure he's made his inferences, even if he wasn't told about the other vampires, he could guess Lestat has sad memories of Paris. He could justify that's the reason Lestat did not want to go back.

Ana D.

I can't wait for him to see the final episodes! 😭🌹

Victoria

YES to everything in this comment!

Hannah G0123

Did you notice that in the beginning when Armand is talking to Daniel, there's a moment where it pans to the computer the audio signals don't change even Armand is talking.

darkparadise.

The way Louis asks him about Paris in S1 also always led me to believe Lestat had told him at least something about not wanting to go back there? Like why did he say it like that if he didn’t know anything about Lestat’s past?

Amanda Hill

Hey no problem man, you gotta take care of yourself, completely understand

Martin Gage

Before Tuesay, just making sure I'm resting my eyes so I don't have a setback🙏🏿 sorry about that

Raymond Walker

When will you be reacting to episode 4? Haven’t seen anything in a while and was just wondering, thanks

Martin Gage

Oh he absolutely does! I feel like one massive significant difference between lestat and armand is that armand is extremely controlled and exercises that control in everything whereas lestat is anything but controlled 😂 he wants Louie to be extravagant and extraordinary and loud and angry and vicious unlike armand who wants everything wrapped up neatly and domesticated lol

Caitlin 🥀

Yessss, Armand keeps the books on the ceiling and Lestat bought an entire library for Louis. I feel like Armand keeps things like the ripped out pages up there.

Amanda Hill

This comment totally hits! Why does Armand keep the books in the air knowing Louis can't fly? It's controlling behavior. One thing with Lestat is he always bought Louis books. They has entire bookshelves in their house and Lestat himself barely read them. They were for Louis because Lestat loved him and knew he loved to read.

Nicole Soza

one thing I noticed in this episode which I failed to in the others, is that Armand keeps the bookshelves which hold all the books, photographs, historical documents etc on the ceiling...knowing Louie cannot fly to access them. perhaps showing his need to control the narrative? one thing you can say about Lestat is he never tried to limit Louie - if he wanted to buy businesses or read books off his bookshelf, he allowed it. Also, when you talked about Lestat turning Louie and why would he ever do that after Nicki - you have to remember that when we first see Louie he is a pimp, profiting off the miseries of other men and the first time Lestat sees him is when he is holding a blade to his own brothers neck. he probably saw a viciousness in Louie that he thought would make a great vampire, a vampire who would "rise out of it" unlike Nicki.

Caitlin 🥀

I love how you picked up on Lestat not liking these vampires. If you remember in season 1 there's a few things that point to this - in one episode Louis is listing places they could visit and when he mentions Paris, Lestat immediately says "no!", and then when Claudia is asking Louis to come to Europe with her, Lestat says "The vampires out there are vicious". He definitely wasn't a fan of these Paris vampires. He has too much history with them. And I'd say as much as Louis is unreliable, Armand could possibly be in the same bracket. As you said, he's a big question mark. I definitely don't believe everything he says.

Kim D

I got you😊 thank you Victoria

Raymond Walker

HEY TACO! I don't know if you already know this but Jacob Anderson is also a singer and producer. You have to hear "aristocrats" and "bloodsport" two songs by him that Jacob says he considers talk about Louis and his relationship with Lestat! I think you will enjoy them!

Victoria

Finally I've seen this reaction! I just wanted to comment on 3 things: 1: I think you were right when you said that you see Lestat as the vampire of this age, and I found your choice of words very funny, because Lestat says this to Armand in the books, in the very scenes we see in this episode: "It's a new age. It requires a new evil. And I am that new evil. I prowl the world in mortal garb - the worst of fiends, the monster that looks just like everyone else. I am the vampire for these times," and I think you absolutely got the vibe with what you said! 2: When Armand says, "I don't think anyone's trying to sell us blenders," it's very funny because in the books, at some point, Armand discovers blenders and becomes obsessed with them! 😂 And I think that also shows very well what you said about him: He's fascinated by modernity and progress, it's just that he finds it hard to let go of old traditions and laws, so he's always attracted to those who are free to evolve with the times. He's one of my favourite characters in this universe, and I'm so glad you're always so open to understanding the characters and not just judging them by what they appear to be, because as we know in this show... Nothing is ever what it seems. And 3: I just wanted to say that you have to remember the phrase "art hides the cracks in the walls" because it's very important and will come in handy later. As always, your reactions and observations are spot on! And I can't wait for the next episode! ❤️‍🔥

Victoria

lol I'm a '94 baby so it makes sense why we like the same music lol. Ok late feedback. I loved your reaction to the episode. I've seen this episodes like 7 times at least and your reaction made me appreciate the "slow" parts for me or the parts I found less interesting. It's incredible the way you're able to analyze and pick up on so much from one watch. I'm too lazy and tired to give specific examples. but know that you're impactful and bring joy to a burnt out therapist 😭🫶🏾

darkparadise.

He let her walk into the lion's den. No heads up!

Yvette

How can I say this safely...OMG I CANNOT WAIT TO SEE HIM GET HIS CLOAK NEXT SEASON!!! 😂

ArcAngel

thank you ! I did in fact miss that

Raymond Walker

Lestat set up the theatre so they could take care of Nicky. And he gave them all the money they needed.

Yvette

We will learn more about Nicky next season as we go back to Lestat's back story.

Yvette

You are right, that is exactly what Lestat did. He read the actions all wrong. But Sam Reid said in an interview that Lestat was a fish out of water with Louis. He was trying so hard to court him with Louis' family. He was trying so hard to appear human. He didn't have to do that with Nicky. He was human with Nicky and then became a vampire.

Yvette

Or some kind of connection to Lestat. But if Armand never really got over Lestat, he can't possibly believe that Louis has.

Yvette

With the wolf collar.

Yvette

But he would not have gotten to this point without Louis.

Yvette

Older vampires need someone to bring them forward. Even though Lestat broke up the coven, Armand was still following the old ways until Lestat showed him a better way. Now he needs Louis to break him away from the coven and show him how to live with only a companion. Armand would have never made this far with out the Vampire capitalist and the Vampire pilot. Louis has a foot in the future. It will be interesting to see how Armand is doing on his own in season 3.

Yvette

Thanks! I’m glad it’s a happy reminder! lol

Jackie Owe

Oh, random note I'm not sure if anyone else mentioned: after Armand throws Lestat against the wall with his power in the flashback, you can see his eyes vibrating! I completely missed it on my first watch and I thought you might have too given your eye difficulties. It's a really neat looking effect!

Amanda Winstead

Yes that survivor instinct is something that draws me in as well..thank you for this comment. .we will get there in due time ☺️

Raymond Walker

armand is such a complex and interesting character. do multifaceted. being alive for that long and living through multiple eras will do that to you!

Marjorie Be

Agreed!

Kelsi Villarreal

I swear I dance when I eat my food, my family always talks about it, it's funny you say that ☺️

Raymond Walker

also i love your appreciation for things like specific lines of dialogue, and nuance, and music. it's like when you're eating something amazing and have to do a little dance with every new bite.

PickleBaron

So I finally had time to write this down in an ordered fashion. But a couple of things first, I know you are trying and it is really sweet but “guys” is really fine, I‘m a gal who feels comfortable being called guy and since no one has complained yet, I’m gonna assume that is true for the majority of the people watching, so please stop being so hard on yourself every time it slips out 😂 Once again there were so many things you said and pointed out that will be picked up in the rest of the season and because of that I can‘t talk about them yet without spoiling anything but just know that I was here screaming into my pillow and laughing uncontrollably. I loved everything about your commentary and felt highly entertained. I now can’t wait for your reaction to the coming episodes since you proclaimed that this one is your favorite so many times. Believe me, it’s only gonna get better from here on out. I’m also a big fan of how naturally the show manages to switch gears and that the rhythm never feels forced as if they are just trying to do something different but rather is a natural progression of how the story is going. I think I pointed out in my last comment that Louis tried to make Daniel as uncomfortable as possible during the dinner episode in S1E2 but I’ve never connected it to Daniel being squeamish in this episode before. But I think that is actually a really good point. I adore how they introduced us to Raglan James because at first you are kind of just looking at this man going, “what the hell does this guy want" and then suddenly we go from a weird social encounter to a very weird social encounter with a secret agent. Which I can appreciate. Also, I like that they keep up the mystery of who he actually is and works for and still manage to drop easter eggs which are fun for the book readers. And we learn so many things from this encounter. Daniel’s laptop is very hackable and has been hacked and is now encrypted. We learn that either Lestat was never aware or never cared how many vampires actually existed (which would not be unrealistic) or just severely understated their numbers when he said that there were only “100. 101” vampires in the world in S1E2. Then again, it could also be that since the 1910s the numbers have greatly risen since we now have the sudden jump from 900 to 1600. We have also learned that Daniel is not the first one to attempt to write the history of the vampires. And I can’t help but wonder if the books never got written or if they all just ended up dead or undead before they finished writing them (S2E3). And oh my God, your face when you realized that Louis was breaking the third Great Law (”No vampire must commit to writing the history of the vampires”) and the fourth Great Law (“No vampire shall ever reveal his true nature to a mortal and let that mortal live” ) at the same. I felt that face very much. And it is true, our boy has either a very selective memory or just does not care whatsoever; and as we know both of these things are true. Every time I see Armand up there hovering by the library I get pissed off for Louis’ sake because we all know he can fly. So either they have a really big ladder he can use if he wants to read a book or he has to ask Armand to get one for him every time he does. And it just irks me how they could have completely avoided this issue if they had normal bookcases. Unnecessary. I also love the conversation between Armand and Daniel on so many levels. In general, I just really enjoy these two snipping at each other like what the hell are these two even trying to achieve at that very moment with their pointed barbs like “how many Rashids, Rashid?” or “we are multi-millionaires not quite a billion”. Also, the multi-millionaire remark is a lot of fun to me because the first time I heard it I was like, they must be doing something wrong if after all these years they still haven’t reached a billion. After all, they have been around for more than 200 years, the interest rate alone should be insane. But then I heard Jacob (Anderson) say in an interview that Louis was being ethical and paid the people what they were actually worth and did his taxes diligently and I was like, okay that might do it. Which also feels like a very human sort of morality and makes the quote, “but what is that morality other than rules agreed upon?” and your comment that “they are human but transcend humans” even more pointed in my opinion. Also, something I wonder every time I watch this episode is when Armand and Daniel start recording, we have Armand saying, “he will awake when the sun sleeps” and then there is this cut to the recording on Daniel’s laptop and you can see that it did not record the sentence. And I always wonder if that is on purpose. Like can Armand control if his voice is being recorded or not? Or is it just supposed to draw your attention? Because the next sentences are definitely being recorded. So that little snippet always confuses me a little. Armand and Lestat are such an interesting dynamic and I can’t say too much otherwise I would be hinting at things (either book, show or movie). So just a couple of snippets: 1.) Remember Armand being all haughty about him and Lestat not being compatible (which admittedly were Louis’ words) and now in his story he makes it sound like he was the poor wronged party, seduced and then left? I always thought that was funny because both interactions kind of had Louis as the narrator. He was the one who said they weren’t compatible, he also was the one who sai Lestat up and left and abandoned Armand and Nicki; but both of these things sound like Armand’s opinion that Louis just adopted. But why make Louis voice these opinions in the first place, why not have Armand say them? Also Armand’s statement, “they were all in love with him. He had that effect on everyone”, speaks of a depth of feeling that wasn’t present in S2E2. Last episode it sounded like a fling, in this episode, it sounds like a terrible love affair gone wrong. Which makes the “you shared a boyfriend” quip even funnier. 2.) The mortal lover theme is also interesting in light of Claudia and Charlie and how Lestat dealt with that. As we know Lestat spoke of Nicki with great fondness and pain when he was in New Orleans; when he spoke of him at all. So Armand and Louis’ account of sudden abandonment seems strange in light of that fact. But we also do know that Nicki dies eventually and that Lestat is aware of that, after all Claudia and he talk about it in S1E6. So was that before he left Paris? After? Was what Satan’s children did to Nicki the reason Lestat was trying to teach Claudia to stay away from human affairs? There are lot of question marks in that paragraph and I hope you can add a few more. 3.) I also find the three-way parallel between Armand, Lestat, and Claudia very intriguing. Lestat was kidnapped, locked away, and turned by Magnus (S1E6), Claudia was held under the floorboards by Bruce (S2E3), and Armand is kind of the mix between the two since he and the children of Satan lived underground and were locked away like rats (S2E3). All three had very traumatic experiences before and after they became vampires and nevertheless all of them seem to adapt very well to being vampires and the cruelty that sometimes brings with it. One could make the case that Louis also fits the list of being locked away but I always felt like Louis did a lot of the locking away part to himself as a punishment for himself rather than actual major outside forces (I know people are gonna disagree with me on that). But while we are on Louis, let us talk about this very interesting encounter: “Kill me again. Show me the only way you know how to love”. I always thought of this as only a callback to the end of last season and Louis loving and killing Lestat. But as I watched it this time I had to think of the only time we’ve actually heard Louis utter the words “I love you” out loud, which was to Paul in S1E1. Louis tells Paul, he loves him and Paul kills himself and then Louis’ mother blames him for Paul’s death and Louis blames himself for his death. And even though Louis never says the words “I love you” to Lestat, we as the viewers are told repeatedly that Louis loves him and then Louis actually kills him with his own hands. So I thought maybe that became an unconscious association for Louis. He kills the people he loves most in the world. Because as we know from S1E1 Paul used to be Louis' favorite person in the world and we know also from the courtship days that Lestat was the only person besides Paul that Louis confided and trusted in that way (and apparently still is if we go by this statement, ”I’m still the only one you trust" S2E3). And as much as Louis loves Claudia, he has always chosen Lestat over her and I think this is no different. On the other hand, Claudia seems to see a lot of similarities between Lestat and Bruce, especially using the words “I love you” as a way to hurt someone. I think it is interesting because I also felt that Claudia used a weaponized version of "I love you" on Louis in S1E6 when she starts making the plan to kill Lestat. I also think she is projecting a lot of her own trauma and what she experienced with Bruce onto Lestat and Louis' relationship and while the situations have some similarities I don’t think there are as many as she thinks there are. Moreover, I think that for Lestat there were also a lot of similarities between his situation with Magnus and Claudia's situation with Bruce and sadly he used the knowledge of his own pain to hurt Claudia in S1E6 rather than comfort her in S1E5. Which is very twisted but that is another issue altogether. Lastly, I wanted to point out the continuity of the bird motif that becomes ever more interwoven with Claudia’s identity theme. If you look closely at the last scene with Claudia and the coven, where they tell her that she will play the little girl for the next 50 years, you can see the heartbreak on her face as she is once again forced to conform to the role of her outside shape rather than the mind that's on the inside. On top of that, they use the phrasing “you will be their little birdie for the next 50 years” which alludes once more to her being a bird in a cage.

Maria

I love the conversation about good and evil. It’s such a fitting topic. It’s sad that Louis feels who he is is evil. I mean is a tiger evil for eating a baby impala or a lion chasing down the weakest wilderbeast? Does our evil bucket fill up with every “bad” act even if it’s something we need or should I say within our nature. I probably sound like a broken record but I love your insight. And I love that you don’t hold yourself back and you allow yourself to experience all the vampires. I love them all. I love Armand as well. I can’t imagine being tasked with leading something you no longer believe in and running it long after you’ve become disillusioned. Is it discipline or insanity? Or maybe the need for something to pass the eternity with. Louis said he was bored after 100 years. Imagine 514 lol I love that Claudia found the coven. It’s sad that they made a play that forces her to play a child. At this time Claudia is in her 40s. I’m glad you’re enjoying the odyssey. 5 more episodes of greatness left. They are all better than the last.

Jackie Owe

i was like kombucha girl whenever i saw armand. "he's intriguing, but why is that? he made a good point here, but wait, no. i have questions, but do i want the answers" :D but then D:

PickleBaron

Louis is such a perfect unreliable narrator. Like he’s so full of self-loathing + regret, I think we forget sometimes that it’s not just him forgetting things that are too hard to reckon with but also blaming himself or putting himself down through the way he tells the story. Like they cut from this super flirty exchange between him and Armand where he’s fighting for his independence to him in modern-day saying “I was putting him in a very difficult position,” like immediately frames himself as the problem even though he’s (imo) not wrong for wanting that. He does it over and over, like *he’s* too weak, *he’s* too selfish, etc etc. He’s compelling because he’s flawed, but his flaws are also skewing the story he’s telling us. Like, we’re counting on the clinically depressed vampire to tell us his reliable autobiography? It wasn’t until rewatching the series through this that I noticed Louis almost never has anything positive to say about himself in his own story. It’s just him recounting moments of weakness, mistakes he made, bad things that happened, over and over again.

Natasha

Thank you Natasha 🙏🏿 I'm glad you are enjoying the reactions

Raymond Walker

We’re at a point where all I want to say is stuff that will hint at or spoil future eps so will just say: watching you watch this show puts the biggest smile on my face every time. Seeing you so invested in these characters and the story is such a delight and it’s just going to get better.

Natasha

Same! I had to swallow my pain after you lsited Louis AFTER Santiago on your list, but I get it lmao he's a mess!

sierra's reaction corner

enjoy Jackie!! Love your name btw thats my lil cousins name and me and her talk about our shared love of anime/manga all day so its a pleasant reminder when i see your comments pop up. If you have any thoughts to add to the reaction drop another comment!

Raymond Walker

Starting the video and I love the musical intro!

Jackie Owe

Yes please!!!

Jackie Owe

Took me forever to finally get around to watching this reaction (being busy SUCKS) but I've finally watched it and I'm ready to comment lol First of all, I love that you're loving the show so much AND that you're vibing with Armand. A lot of people were such fans of Lestat and his romance with Louis that having Armand enter the picture and his relationship with Louis take a larger role was a tough adjustment for some and they weren't able to enjoy Armand as much at the start. But they're all so complex and fascinating, I'm glad you can appreciate them all! Also, to clarify the stuff with Daniel and what's going on with his laptop. It's not a spoiler because you were supposed to pick up on this, but a lot of people missed it on first watch. Basically, Daniel met that man in the beginning, Raglan James, who's clearly apart of some organization and essentially says "We know you, the vampires and we've hacked your laptop". When we see Daniel getting distracted with his laptop, he's getting a message from an RJ (Raglan James) who is showing Daniel the files they've placed on his laptop. You are NOT supposed to know what exactly is in those files, just that there is now an outside presence communicating information to Daniel. That scene of Claudia telling Louis what Bruce did to her always gets me. She's been holding onto that for YEARS and is finally at a place where she felt ready to share with him emotionally. And on top of it, Louis now feels like he can't even tell her about Armand knowing and them being in more danger because he doesn't want to ruin her peace. But then you contrast that with what happens at the end where Claudia is given this role of playing a child forever...in a place she thought she'd be free to be what she wants...so fucked up. Armand and Lestat's history is SO interesting! First of all, the best thing Lestat did was telling Armand they didn't need to live in the dirt because chile....the dirty sewer rat look was NOT it for Armand lmao But yeah Armand's story about Lestat is fascinating and I can't wait for you to learn more about him because it's clear that Armand finds comfort in structure and controlled environments (as leader of covens) yet he's constantly drawn to people who challenge those structures and ideals. Says a lot about him I think! Louis is also interesting here because I think we finally see Louis starting to develop more of a sense of self! He's clearly passionate about art (albeit in a different way to Lestat and Armand who loved the theater) but he's been focusing on photography, going out to jazz clubs and "finding himself" and honestly I think he's moving similarly to Lestat in Season 1 in his own more human way. And whereas Louis was drawn to Lestat's "otherworldly"-ness and his ostentatious and dramatic personality (which worked for Louis because he was so repressed in his human life and Lestat offered something different), Armand is drawn to Louis for his refusal to partake in the vampire community, his reflectiveness, the philosophical debates and the distinctly human activities he enjoys (which works for Armand because he's been surrounded by vampires for hundreds of years and Louis offers an escape from those constraints).

sierra's reaction corner

See i ain't even touch on that and it was SUPER FOUL! like you said he just does some things that are like wtf

Raymond Walker

🤣🤣🤣

Raymond Walker

These videos are going to keep getting longer until the finale is just a 24-hour live feed 😂

Amanda Winstead

I have to say, I LOVE how you love this show!! As a hardcore Louis stan, it pains me that he’s at the bottom of the list every week. But I get it, he does weird shit sometimes. Like how you gon let Claudia get sworn into the coven after Armand told you he knew about Lestat?? I know she was really set on joining, but still… If you can’t stop her, at least let her know so she can make an informed decision. smh That’s my baby tho and hopefully you come around to him by the end of the season 😫

Val

Seriously, the man LOVES technology.

Amanda Hill

There are times when you say things and I just try not to scream at the screen in a good way. You are so spot on with some things it's insane. No spoilers. The thing about the writing of this show is that it has so much source material to draw from that it is like the most sumptuously layered desert. There are so many levels layered on top of each other. On a personal level the reason that Lestat and Armand are so fascinating to me is because they are both such survivors, they more than any others have the capacity to endure and preserve. Being the simp for Armand that I am, I adore episodes 3-5 of this season. I cannot wait for your review of 5. It's gonna be off the rails. Thank you for your continued thoughtful insights and amusing ponderings, a delight as always.

Aquielle

I have to say I disagree that Armand is open to change, because despite everything he says here, when you think about it TdV is basically same as his old coven, Children of Darkness. Yes, they're cleaner and have better disguise, but they still live by the same ridiculous laws despite Lestat has given him a chance to discontinue them.

crazykuroneko

Yeaa i saw that but I didn't comment on it in the moment because i couldn't read her emotion to well, but playing a child for 50 years has to make her SIIIIICK. She's been stuck as a child for so long already. Now I have to portray a chid ON STAGE??!🫠

Raymond Walker

thank you 🙏🏿

Raymond Walker

oh ofc, I'm actually looking forward to see your reactions to the later episodes so much. You always make points I missed before

crazykuroneko

Thank you🙏🏿, I promise you, I am on top of the unreliable narrator stuff regardless of if I talk about it or not, or fall in love with whoever is telling the story I remain skeptical. I don't mention it at this point because I said it in episode 1 my first reaction. I would be careful with that comment with other reactors though because it's basically a way of telling the reactor " this characters is lying " without saying it fully. Potentially changing their reaction or takes or their ability to fully "hate/love " a character. And I'm sure you want authenticity from your reactors. Loved everything you had to add 🙏🏿♥️

Raymond Walker

Just want to remind you who's telling the story is very important, especially this season we have three sources (Louis, Armand, and Claudia's diaries). Each has its own level of unrealibleness Anyway, many people dislike the addition of Claudia's SA that's not from the books, but I like it. The writers have used that for so many purposes. But what's most important is to remember Claudia went through all of that then went home and saw how Lestat abused Louis and almost killed him despite Lestat always said he always loved Louis. It adds more to Claudia's motivation and determination to free them both off Lestat. Also, no matter how many times I rewatch, it's Wild when you remember Lestat hallucination is basically Louis himself. Like, he calls himself whore, he still feels guilty for never saying i love you to Lestat etc. The level of the writing is insane

crazykuroneko

One thing people tend to overlook is when Armand and Daniel are talking, Armand was lowkey mocking Daniel, when his voice wasn’t picked up by the recorder.

Himindabank

It definitely felt like a hit and run hahaaha. He was like "not doing this again. I just got away from Magnus. Let me get this power-up and dip" 😂

Tiffers

If you rewatch this one before the next episode, pay attention to Claudia's expression at the end when they give her the dress. She is not happy! It is so sad that she's so happy and then they immediately crush her by telling her she's going to be playing a little girl on stage, it's heartbreaking. I love your commentary and, even though I already loved this episode, you've made me love it more.

Kelsi Villarreal

Also Armand is such an iPad baby himself.

Kelsi Villarreal

It is interesting that Louis said that Lestat is always for Lestat and then he abandons them, but Lestat did not leave him, Louis left Lestat. Anyway, I really enjoy your commentary.

Moira Argent

I know what you're saying, and I agree so much

Three Dalmations

Just remember the backstory you are getting of Lestat/Nicky/Armand is from Armand’s POV.

Amanda Hill

Pppfttt yo !!

Raymond Walker

Only Louis could be told “hey a coven wants to kill you and Claudia” in a tunnel then invite the man inside after…I love Daddy Lou but DAMN he pmo sometimes.

Amanda Hill

Thank you Terri🙏🏿♥️ i just really really love Vampires werewolves all that jazz

Raymond Walker

Thank you mizz🍯my 🙏🏿♥️, glad you're here

Raymond Walker

I CAN'T WAIT until S3 to see Nicki - and that's all I'm gonna say.

xris037

Louis found a way to be a vampire without causing death??? Lestat was already doing that, remember? :-) Very first episode, Louis says that Lestat took une petite coup from Louis - a little drink, a little bit, a little sip. Enough to keep him strong, but not enough to kill. They all know how to do that. It's not that Louis is a more modern or a new kind of vampire. It's not that he resists drinking from humans. Because we can see that he still does it - and has a lot of Tech Billionaire CEO-style bio-hacks to keep his feeding from causing death. He's a coven-less rebel with an interest in the arts and a very strong will. Just like Lestat. I think that's what has caught Armand's eye.

xris037

🤣🤣🤣 you'd be surprised what's on my Spotify 🙏🏿 enjoy

Raymond Walker

just starting the video. first off: what you know about the gorillaz!!! my jam. I'm glad you're bringing the music back. Can't wait to watch!

darkparadise.

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

🎯

Raymond Walker

The interesting thing about Armand telling Daniel that humans are slaves to their devices is that, not even 2 mins later, he's telling Daniel about the system that HE was a slave to for over two centuries.

xris037

THIS EPISODE! This episode contains key elements to the Secret of Why many people love Lestat... He is Lestat the Iconoclast. For decades his character empowered people who may have been surrounded by unhealthy dogmatic groups (including religious groups) which were oppressive -- or worse. These books, mostly through the character of Lestat, addressed the ideas surrounding thought constraints, forced conformity, etc., which are characteristic of mind control groups (in the books, obviously, these ideas are much more fleshed out). In this episode while we see Louis and Armand discussing the nature of evil and the existence of God, a random guy called 'Jean Paul' interrupts their conversation -- this guy has got to be the great French existentialist philosopher Jean Paul Sarte. This show is so deep...the writing goes to 11.

ArcAngel

Dude, you can react to each episode for as long as you like, as far as I’m concerned! You so rock at this! 🩵

Mizzhoneymy

It's Dare! 🙅🙆💁 (im vogueing with you) 😂

ArcAngel

Lestat is wearing The Red Cloak! (if you know, you know). 😉

ArcAngel

I also love it when we get vampire backstory! So looking forward to more in coming seasons. I really enjoy your curiosity and understanding.

Terri Matter

I LOVE when Louis gets flirty! It always feels totally unexpected but he’s so damn smooth with it.

Valaree

Now that you say it, the fish wriggling on the plate probably is a call back to Louis and the fox on his plate.

Jessica

Imo once you hit the halfway point things get turned up to 11 and then it's just a nonstop rollercoaster til the end! First four eps are the climb up that first hill 🎢 then it's nothing but thrills!

Amanda Winstead

I think Armand loves Louis because Louis embodies the new age as you say. But to me at least a part of it is also about Lestat. "I said I love you to Lestat and then never said those words again for one hundred years until I met you... Lestat's fledgling." I always saw that scene of the three of them walking along the river as Lestat haunting them both.

Three Dalmations

Thank you Mia!, yea gotta start off on a high note

Raymond Walker

I always appreciate the lil jamming sessions before the show reaction. Its always good vibes. Sets the tone for a good reaction

Mia Hernandez

I love ep 6 so much actually, it’s brilliant and moving! I just meant 5&7 will particularly break FoxTaco’s brain 😂

Grace

The whole season is 🔥🔥🔥

Grace

I forgot to say this but I think when Lestat met Louis he thought Louis would take to vampirism because he pulled a knife on his brother, and I think that was the potential he saw in him, but I don’t think Lestat understood that Louis doing that to his brother was just a front because Paul was getting involved in his business that they needed to survive. I just think Lestat miscalculated the situation thinking he’d be different from Nicki. And from what Armand has said so far it seems like Nicki was worse than Louis when it came to taking vampirism so maybe Lestat wasn’t too off?

RÆY

Yes, I was asking you. Thanks for responding. I agree with wanting more of their time together back then. There's so much more to explore.

Melissa

Every episode is top tier. This show is exquisite.

Melissa

Why is everbody leaving out episode 6? I love you babe (epsiode 6) don’t feel lonely because all these mean children are ignoring you!

Maria

I think Armand was genuinely into Lestat. Sam's portrayal did feel "hit and run" to me. 100%

Melissa

Hit and run?

Raymond Walker

The Paris coven = dirty, backwards, and horrible. Imagine spending decades like that as a vampire when you have all of the power you have. No wonder Lestat wanted nothing to do with it! Once Claudia gets there, they've upgraded, so I understand her desire for belonging. The transition between dirty coven leader Armand and suave, sexy Armand is *chef's kiss. And Santiago is perfection! Ben Daniels devours that role (no pun intended). Jacob Anderson & Assad Zaman have great chemistry together. That first kiss is gorgeous with the light in the background that silhouettes them. Lines I love: 1. Louis saying to Armand, "Oh, there's room" and giving him that irresistible flirty look. 2. Armand talking of his affair with Lestat and saying, "A century or so ago. Yesterday. What is time to a vampire?" I could ponder on that for hours.

Melissa

Not 4 , 6 & 8??👀(Obviously don't answer that)

Raymond Walker

Always feels good when my rambles make a little bit of sense😅..glad you're enjoying the reactions Grace. I've actually got alot more thoughts aas well..maybe I'll open the next reaction with those

Raymond Walker

I loved seeing Lestat on stage. You can see why he loves the theater and music so much. He's a natural.

Melissa

So vibe with me Arc🎵🎵🎵🎵🕺🏿🕺🏿🕺🏿

Raymond Walker

I saw🙏🏿♥️☺️

Raymond Walker

@Melissa I don’t know if you are asking me or FoxTaco but to answer your question, I don’t think so. I believe Lestat LOVES Louis, like he’d do anything for him. As for Armand, I don’t get the same feeling. You could see it on Sam Reid’s face when Lestat said to Armand “I love you too” that he didn’t really mean those words. However, I do think their dynamic is really interesting and I am hoping we get more of that eventually.

RÆY

Yes, and Nicky was even more "fragile" (Armand's word) than Louis could ever be.

Melissa

When Lestat comes to Armand and drinks his blood that first time, it felt so purposeful -- like, "I'm going to get whatever powers you have that I don't have. Then, I'm gonna bounce." That was my honest feeling when I saw that scene the first time. Everything about Lestat with Armand felt insincere to me. I don't know that it all was or wasn't -- it's just how I read Sam Reid's acting.

Melissa

Did you feel Lestat and Armand had the same chemistry as Lestat and Louis? Just curious. :)

Melissa

What you said about Louis being the next step in the evolution of vampires is really astute, and in a way is kind of the point of the first book. Louis can navigate the changing of eras in a way Armand never can.

Grace

Love this song!

ArcAngel

lmao maybe but we won’t find out until season 3.

RÆY

Episode 5 and 7 are gonna totally blow your mind, and I cannot wait!!!

Grace

Maybe my initial thought was right🤷🏿‍♂️ maybe they killed Nicki lol

Raymond Walker

Seeing you react to this episode made me love it even more. I haven’t read the books but I feel like it is weird and very contradictory that Lestat told Louis about Nicki and talked about how it took him a century to try again in season 1 just for Armand to be like “He abandoned Nicki” it makes no sense so someone’s lying. The Lestat and Armand dynamic is fire, just from the bit I saw in this episode. Hope we get more of that.

RÆY

just another point: assad said in an interview that armand had every intention of killing louis when they went down into that tunnel but once he started talking about claudia, armand decided to let him live *this is from the interview he did with autumn brown which would be a great reaction once the season is over as she has ones with all different cast members, theres also so many other incredible interviews out there that would be great to check out too!!*

Olivia

I posted in the last episode these paintings sold several years ago for 143mil. Just think Louis could have picked these paintings up for next to nothing back in the day. Lol

Yvette

Armand is fucking awesome so far

Raymond Walker

There are some Armand comments I want to make but Ill wait until you finish the season. Definitely loving your insights and excitement when little rocks are overturned on the characters. On rewatches it just gets better and better.

Tiffers

Right right thank it slipped my mind. I even commented on it lol

Raymond Walker

Nicky was turned but Lestat never had any intention of turning him. He wanted Nicky to be human but once he was attacked I feel like Lestat knew he wouldn't be safe so he turned him, but then Nicky wasn't the same and that broke Lestat to a degree.

Tiffers

i have to agree with you that this is one of my favourite episodes of the show ( they are all unbelievable so its difficult to pick 🤣 ) so glad you are starting to join the armand train!!, all of the insight into his and lestats past this episode was so good and just this episode as a whole i thought was amazing - cant wait to go on the rest of this journey with you❤️❤️

Olivia

Nicky was turned he just didn't take well to being a vampire, kinda like Louis.

Valentine

Nicky was turned was he not? Lestat learned how to use his powers then dipped leaving Nicky and Armand right? Or am I missing something?wasnt Nicky the guy playing the voilin mad as a mufuka cause lestat was "wrapped up" in armand

Raymond Walker

I always took Lestat losing Nicky as his turning point. Sam played the heartbreak so well. Lestat was already tortured and turned and he found a way to get his life where he wanted it then, because Armand felt slighted, he reopened that wound and Lestat played the long con and left. Lestat never had any intention of staying, he lost the one thing he wanted (Nicky) and he was pissed so he conned Armand into upgrading the coven, learning what he wanted from Armand, then left.

Tiffers

I nearly cried when I saw your comment and then heard you talk about my comment, so thank you! I know long comments are hard for you, so please never push yourself to read my comments at all or at once, I just want to leave you all of my thoughts and feel like it is better to have them comprised in one comment than in four to six separate comments. Frank once told me, he had a software read him my comments because he could not get through them by reading them on his own, so if that's something you are interested in and it could help your eyes, maybe he could give you a recommendation. As always your health is the most important thing and I hope you are taking good care of yourself and resting up.

Maria

I answered your last one in this video hope you watch it

Raymond Walker

HERE WE GO! I'm so ready for this episode 😂 and already preparing my essay!

Maria
