(PLEASE READ) can I be transpartent?!
Added 2024-09-16 22:24:51 +0000 UTCHey peeps, I wanna say thank you all for the continued support no matter how long you have been a member here I appreciate each and everyone of you. With that said I need to make some changes moving forward in content and for most of you all, that wont affect your enjoyment here at all , but please read this regardless.
I want to pull back the curtain briefly. My youtube content is STRUGGLING to say the least. LOVECRAFT COUNTRY which I do quite enjoy is not being properly promoted to individuals who would to engage with it. ( ill spare you all the head canon theories and hypothesis I have about that) ATLA performed so underwhelming on youtube that I made it a Patreon exclusive because I LOVED the show so damn much I wanted to continue it but that has cost me a lot of time to try other projects.
Peaky Blinders another show that has some of the best writing and well fleshed out characters i have seen in a long time. Dropped on youtube and i earned 58 views for whatever reason.
Not to mention the time, energy ( eye health) and money I have put into each one of these projects.
As my eyes are still healing I cannot edit my own content much if at all. I wont get into the specifics about money ( unless some is truly curious) but i am not making back anything close to what I am putting into any of these projects excluding IWTV. ( not that money is the main focus but it is a focus I am sure you all understand I need to make enough to keep editing expenses covered)
Which brings me to my next point. We only did 7k on youtube with IWTV but it has literally changed the game for me and introduced me to a lot of you all over these past few weeks.
I will finish the finally for ATLA. After that I will be focusing on IWTV and one other show. I will run 1 poll for that slot and I need suggestions I've seen Hannibal floating around Dark, Succession and The Haunting of Hill House. Please add a few more and this may seem like a weird ask but I want to watch something that will perform at least decently on youtube so I want to avoid passion projects at this time and get into the algorithms good graces so we can grow here and on youtube. Also if you are in any groups and want to share my content YOU HAVE MY BLESSING HAHAHA I WOULD LOVE the engagement. I ll make a poll with 6 slots so lets here some ideas.
Members who are here for anime or other things I will not take it personal if you decide to leave or become a free member. In this situation I might do the same thing. I have to focus on what is working for me. RIght now that is IWTV so I want to watch something probably more up that alley.
Any anime content that releases from this point forward was pre recorded and already scheduled to come out. Im not actively recording anime.

2024-10-09 06:48:50 +0000 UTCI am sorry other content does not perform as well as IWTV. Sadly, this is the only show I am interested in. I don’t watch any other shows at all these days. Regardless, I wish you luck with your channel, because you are very insightful and I hope you achieve higher numbers because you definitely deserve it. What I may suggest is researching current trends and what shows bring largest numbers to other YouTubers currently, because Peaky Blinders, Hannibal, etc are older shows. Maybe more recent ones will do better while they’re still on viewers’ minds?

2024-09-30 19:08:57 +0000 UTCBridgerton definitely gets good numbers, its a pretty popular show overall.

2024-09-24 23:24:56 +0000 UTCI suggested some of these movie suggestions on Frank's page too but I'll suggest the same on yours. This time I actually put some filters on to see if people were watching them this year. The Jordan Peele movie Nope seems to get some good viewership. It has some scary elements but it's not a horror. Hereditary by Ari Aster is still doing good numbers despite being several years old. It's got some graphic scenes that are disturbing but it's more psychological. Same with Midsommar. Same director. The Usual Suspects pulls good numbers. No Country for Old Men. Both are very cerebral. I saw someone's comment about thinking ahead for Halloween. I second that opinion. Spooky season is upon us. Protect your mental health if scary stuff ain't for you but that might be a good option.

2024-09-22 00:47:54 +0000 UTCHill House has done good numbers for other channels I follow and with Halloween coming up would be a safe bet. Dark is GREAT but not an easy algorithm win, maybe a save-for-later pick.

2024-09-19 00:36:35 +0000 UTCAlot of reactors doing a show at once usually turns out bad for a smaller channel..and we get back logged..but I appreciate it. I already watched all of season 1 of PB and it got 50 views..and I gave it the same amount of attention to details as IWTV

2024-09-18 20:36:00 +0000 UTCYea that's the difference between bug channels and ones like myself..popular for them means engagement l..popular for a small channel means..my video will be pushed to the back of the line more than likely..but thank you

2024-09-18 00:49:08 +0000 UTChmmm. i’ll just say that the storytelling is amazing. the actors really bring the story to life and it’s not only spooky, but it dives into issues that are extremely gut-wrenching and relatable regarding family and personal struggle and it really touches the soul. me and all the homies watch this show annually during spooky szn bc it’s truly a phenomenal watch. 10/10 no notes. could talk for ages about it but i’ll wait until you react (maybe👀)…

2024-09-17 22:30:43 +0000 UTCFoxTaco: Have you seen From? It's a horror show, but not that scary -- Stephen King type of show. Season 3 starts Sept. 22, I think.

2024-09-17 22:29:47 +0000 UTCSeverance is a great recommendation! Watch season 1 and do a full season reaction or something then react to season 2 as it unfolds. Lots of Severance fans out there!

Melissa
2024-09-17 22:25:30 +0000 UTCWe totally understand, and support whatever decision works best for you. But also, please don't be discouraged. Give yourself room to grow. You're still building and sometimes the process may take a little while. Success will find you regardless because you are great at what you do 💖! I do hope you continue to watch Lovecraft Country, if not for reactions but for yourself because Black representation in science-fiction and horror are so limited. I also recommend Hannibal. Exciting show with great storyline, and shocking imagery that is reaction worthy. Keep prioritizing your health and I hope you are healing and feeling better 💕.

2024-09-17 15:33:44 +0000 UTCIf you are looking to lean into the IWTV fandom the ven diagram of those fans and Hannibal fans is in fact a circle. Hill House is always a wonderful choice as it stands up to this day. Plus bonus spooky season content. Mike Flanagan also did a Poe anthology called House of Usher that is stellar and on Netflix.

2024-09-17 12:09:09 +0000 UTCThe thing about Cobra Kai is that you have to have watched the original Karate Kid for a lot of the foundational story elements to really make sense.

2024-09-17 06:46:50 +0000 UTCFirst off, do whatever you need to do for yourself and your health man. Now to business. Reactions from folks that are sincere and enjoyable are vastly more interesting than the bounty of reactions out there where you can tell people are just trudging through it just to do it. One suggestion that a lot of folks overlook when doing reactions. Look for something that catches your interest that is currently airing and content that otherwise has a lot of current/recent buzz about it. When you react to older stuff that isn't actively being promoted by the broadcasters, you're really just throwing a net out and hoping to catch something. There's absolutely nothing wrong with, but understand that you're generally going to pull in just the niche crowd of viewers interested in that thing specifically. That works well for the real powerhouses like League, Star Wars and Blizzard content. But may not work for other franchises and IPs. If the goal is channel engagement, you may need to pull up to the current stuff more and/or go with some of the more stable reliable content offerings that have consistent staying power in the reaction sphere. Here are some things that may get more interest in general that should probably already be on your list. These of course will be suggestions that I think you would really enjoy as well. Because if you're not enjoying the content, what's the point of reacting ;) * Farscape is currently celebrating it's 30th anniversary so a lot of folks are coming back to it and/or discovering it for the first time. It's also one of the greatest sci-fi series of all time in my humble opinion. * Firefly is one that's also great for interest. And is yet another absolutely amazing series+movie with an absolutely stellar cast. It also has the benefit of being only one season so not a lot of investment (relatively speaking) needed for it. * The World of Warcraft and/or Diablo cinematics are something of a staple in almost every reactor's archive for a reason. Like I mentioned before, Blizzard content is like League content in that regard. There's always an audience for it and Blizzard did it first before Riot came onto the scene with League. And there also tends to be a fairly decent overlap between the League and WoW communities. * You're on your Star Wars Journey so I'd say at least get to Episodes 1-3, then pivot to check out the one-shot films like Solo and Rogue One, then shows like The Mandalorian and Ashoka. Andor is another good suggestion. But a lot of folks disliked Andor since it focuses on the actual regular people and not the Jedi/Sith or more action based characters' shenanigans. * Remember that we have Arcane Season 2 dropping so you know for a fact that will get some traction for you too. That's a guaranteed win just waiting in your pocket when it drops. Just make sure you jump on it as soon as it kicks off so you don't get left behind the initial launch rush. * I think you've run through the rest of the League cinematics, but can't remember if you've hit all of the really good ones since you don't have a playlist for those.
Dark Kuno
2024-09-17 06:41:57 +0000 UTCI think Star Wars stuff is working well for some creators. I know you already started watching the movies, you could watch the prequels as well and there are some good Star Wars Series like Andor that I think you would enjoy. Also the Gravity Falls fandom is very active right now, there aren't that many reactions on youtube but the ones that are there seem to be doing well. It's also just a really fun and wholesome show.

Janeka Rector
2024-09-17 04:24:19 +0000 UTCI also think it would be good if you and Frank went LIVE for your IWTV discussions together. You can interact with the fans from both channels and probably draw new ones. Plus you don’t have to worry about editing. Just a suggestion.

2024-09-17 04:19:54 +0000 UTCEchoing others' sentiments regarding your eyes. Your reactions and views on characters are really great. I was sold after seeing your reaction to IWTV e1 on YouTube, and it's been a great ride so far watching you enjoy this show and others. I don't know much about algorithms and things, but since into anime & animation, maybe X-Men 97 but not sure if it's now too late from when it dropped for the reactions. Maybe WandaVision to get ready for the Agatha All Along show that will drop on Disney+ soon. For newer shows, it seems best when they are airing or just finished is the best time and for older shows, they need a following. Midnight Mass or any of the Mike Flannagan shows. In fact, do them all lol. They are stellar. Other shows to consider just for great TV, acting, complete character arcs, and full story: Black Sails or Orphan Black. Both had great followings when they aired, sparks hella convo and character discussions. But above all, just lean into what you enjoy most. People will respond to that. IF you like the dark characters and takes on monsters not as human, keep on that path also. Castlevania would be great for that as well.

2024-09-17 02:39:47 +0000 UTCPersonally I think to get you the numbers shows like Bridgerton series has a very strong fan base. Of course House of the Dragon and the Boys also have a good fan base that probably will get your views up. Invincible on Amazon is good also. The Bear is popular and the episodes are shorter which may be better for your eye health. I would also suggest try doing some lives and maybe some shorts on TikTok. 🤷🏿♀️

2024-09-17 02:30:20 +0000 UTCI'm going out on a limb here....if you like Thriller Crime Drama, check out Ozark, a TV series on Netflix if possible. Only 4 seasons to view and a roller coaster of a ride. It explores the dark side of the American dream and featured complex, multi-layered characters with some brutal scenes.

2024-09-17 01:19:03 +0000 UTCIf you're strategising growing the channel, I have a friend who runs a decent size reaction channel and their strat for YouTube is to post things that are currently airing, which is when the most search interest is. Basically if you can get an edit of an episode out a day or two after it airs, that is the best time. They intersperse with big-views movies. Niche but hard-core fanbase shows will get less views on YT but are more likely to draw people to your Patreon. As for the stuff you're floating here, Haunting of Hill House is great and would be my pick. Hannibal is a huge investment of time and I wouldn't bother with it unless it is doing big views or pulls fans to your Patreon. Maybe you could do a "pilot Monday" and use it to watch pilots of stuff, then if something does big views you can continue with it for the first season.

2024-09-17 01:15:36 +0000 UTCTo echo a lot of the sentiments here, I feel for ya. People already mentioned a bunch, but popular shows that you may get more viewers on on YouTube: Arcane(season 2 is around the corner). True Detective(got greenlit for a 5th season). Gravity Falls(a book from the series just released and was abuzz). X-Men 97(was a huge buzz when it released this year)
Jasmine Patterson
2024-09-17 01:06:11 +0000 UTCEchoing all the sympathetic sentiments expressed by other members. For my part, I try to take performance into account with any suggestions (or rather, my best guess about what shows might perform well 🤷). We definitely want you to get maximum payoff for hours logged -- while also considering your enjoyment. I mean, it's so much more fun to watch when you are enjoying yourself! ❤. Not sure of everything you've seen, but I was thinking The Last of Us audiences would get an uptick when HBO starts promoting the new season? Also, have you seen Stranger Things? It seems very popular and is definitely fun. Ummm... Another show which has a die hard following is the first season of True Detective. It's been called the most perfect 8 hours of television ever made. I don't know if that's true, but it is really, really good! Plus its only 8 episodes (the other seasons are unrelated to season 1, yet the new seasons keep the show fresh in people's minds). It's brilliantly written and acted and is absolutely steeped in interesting issues to ponder and discuss. It's really special... have you seen it already? Any of that sound good? Hope you are doing well? Looking forward to your newest chosen content...whichever you choose to do! 😇

2024-09-17 00:39:32 +0000 UTCHill House is a "classic" option but Midnight Mass is also great. American Horror Story allows you to bounce around seasons, since each has its own story. Maybe the Chucky tv series? Oh, and the Sandman is excellent.

2024-09-17 00:24:56 +0000 UTCI still like Mindhunters on Netflix. Two seasons, not new but has a cult following. I am enjoying Daryll Dixon on AMC. I just watch a documentary on Netflix called, Into the fire the lost Daughter. Kaos. I going to say The Mayfair Witches may have a good following. Don't see anyone doing it. Plus it is related to Anne Rice. Lastly, Baby Reindeer could strike up some good conversation. Don't worry we are hanging in there with you. I am going to start sharing your videos and getting the word out.

2024-09-17 00:03:23 +0000 UTCLol idk any of those reactors that you've mentioned 😂 and as Much as I love Cillian Murphy from the first time I seen him in "Breakfast on Pluto" I still can't get into Peaky Blinders and even though the theme song From it from "Nick Cave & the bad seeds" that I'm a fan of. So who knows why it's not getting views for Foxtaco but I know the shows I've mentioned are good and get traction from reactors who do alot of Anime reactions like him so maybe it will help
Elle
2024-09-16 23:59:20 +0000 UTCThere are a lot of reaction channels doing Peaky right now drawing big numbers: Badd Medicine, Diegesis, Natalie Gold, Spartan and Pudgey...Nikki and Steven just finished up recently. The Bear seems to be dropping off, not sure why, but they may draw more now that they won a bunch of awards. Bridgerton seems to draw a LOT as well, but not a lot of reactors are doing it right now - which may mean it's a good time to dive in.
Karen Wood
2024-09-16 23:48:11 +0000 UTCMost of my suggestions are movies to be honest, like the Cornetto Trilogy (Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, The World's End). Especially with the first movie turning 20 this year, I've noticed a few reactions with good numbers popping up. As others have suggested, The Haunting of Hill House would be good for around this time of year, especially if you're hoping to release them in October, for Halloween. Shaun of the Dead is also pretty good for this time of year as well, considering what it features. I know you're hoping to avoid movies though, so I unfortunately cannot be much help, I'm afraid. I feel like I have some bias as I tend to look specifically for reactions to things, versus seeing them organically (if that makes sense?).

I'm sure once you get that traction you'll get more views etc I'm not sure what type of members you have but I know the shows I mentioned are popular on YouTube reactions. 2024-09-16 22:58:07 +0000 UTCI feel like I've seen Firefly perform well? It has a cult following. I'd love to see you watch that. It's short too: only 14 episodes. Maybe Doctor Who? I've seen tons of reactors react to that, but I can't say I paid attention to if they got good views or not. I'd personally love to see you react to Rome or True Blood or The Handmaid's Tale, but Rome probably won't get you too many views, True Blood is older at this point, so no idea how it'd do, and The Handmaid's Tale is pretty heavy so not sure how it'd do view wise either. I'd still love to see you consider them at some point in the future, though, if at all possible. Oh Good Omens is a great show! But again, no idea how it'd do view wise. Sorry I'm not being more helpful; not being a reactor I'm not great a paying attention to view count...I just look for reactors that watch shows/movies I like.

2024-09-16 22:56:09 +0000 UTCThere's a lot of crossover with Hannibal and IWTV because of their similarities and because many of us started with one before jumping to the other, but I'm not sure how well it'd do. 2024-09-16 22:53:40 +0000 UTCDamn that would’ve been a good one 😭 I get it though that’s one of my all time favorite shows! Other ones off the top of my head are probably House of the Dragon (again if you haven’t watched yet), The Boys, Stranger Things, Bridgerton, The Last of Us, Succession, The Bear, Heartstopper, maybe even Euphoria? Might have some luck with older shows with a big fan base, but a little risky considering they’re not as new but: The Walking Dead & Supernatural (faves of mine), but also Breaking Bad, Lost? Maybe even think about bringing someone else on for shows you’ve seen already for that added “first time” element which is really popular!

As I posted up above as a comment, I like you and FF both doing Interview bc you can do some commentary together eventually and promote one another. Then, if you 2nd show is diff from his, I think you'll both benefit by pushing each other's stuff. I am going to recommend "Dark." It, like Interview, has a cultlike following. I think many people would find their way to you, and it's a fan-fucking-tastic series. :) Keep up the great work! You've found a fan in me and many others.

2024-09-16 22:50:33 +0000 UTCi joined for iwtv and am so happy you are enjoying the show so much and can assure i have seen ppl share your reactions on twitter (and i've shared some myself in groupchats). amongst my favourite shows - that i cannot stop rewatching - is ted lasso, a fantastically written, produced and acted show. i am not usually into sitcoms but this one - and shrinking - is my exception, because it has a storyline throughout. it was intended to end after 3 seasons, which it did, but a 4th season (without much details) was recently greenlit. still, the 3 first seasons are a whole. a lot of reactors are currently reacting to it and seem to be doing well on youtube, so that'd be my suggestion!
lo !!
2024-09-16 22:50:20 +0000 UTCAlso, have you considered doing co-reactions with other youtubers? I see a lot of those amongst the horror reactors I follow.

2024-09-16 22:49:39 +0000 UTCI think yes unless this is what FrankFreezy chooses. I think it's smart for the two of you to keep the mutual IwtV but make the other one diff. Just a thought.

2024-09-16 22:48:57 +0000 UTCHere, have some truly amateur opinions: Hannibal's my top option, but aside from just loving the show I do think it does well when paired with iwtv because there's so much crossover in the fandoms. Dark is amazing but probably way too niche. If you're wanting to keep a consistent fan base, it might be good to stick with horror/fantasy and away from mainstream dramas like Succession. I would think any of Mike Flanagan's work would do well, especially Midnight Mass and The Fall of the House of Usher. Possibly 3 Body Problem?

2024-09-16 22:47:08 +0000 UTCThank you..movie reactions I wanna avoid only due to eye time..a movie drains my eyes a bit too much

2024-09-16 22:44:26 +0000 UTCOf the ones you listed in the second to last paragraph I can tell you that Succession will probably do good numbers (I see jumps in views for a lot of folks when they react to that show), and this time of year Haunting of Hill House will as well especially if you bill it as Halloween-related. Hannibal is hit or miss with reactors as far as numbers go. I don't watch the Vampire Diaries, but that seems to have a big following right now for some reason. I see (prior to me finding you) you did more movie reactions - I think those are really big right now - maybe if you don't want to focus on that - at least have one night a week that's a movie reaction? There are a lot of classics that earn more views - A Few Good Men, Apollo 13, The Truman Show, 12 Angry Men, etc. I'm really surprised about Peaky Blinders not doing better! You're a good guy and I like your format, hang in there!

2024-09-16 22:31:33 +0000 UTCJust wanted to say I followed you like three hours ago and I’m binging your reactions to IWTV. Loviiiiing your commentary (and I don’t want to admit how many times I’ve watched IWTV). I may be a new patron, but I can already tell your openness is something that draws people to your channel. I can also tell you already have a great group of people following you, don’t stop being this open with us! We will share, 🩷, comment on any and everything to keep you doing this!
