Without saying too much, ATLA is about standing up to genocide, and Korra is about the politics of privilege, counterinsurgency, and terrorism. Good and evil are less clear. I think you’d love breaking apart the moral complexities, but it’s tonally very different from ATLA. It feels much more about contemporary America and is pretty challenging.

2024-05-23 11:59:01 +0000 UTCOur family feels like Trenton and Niamh. Although based in the same world, they are distinctly different. At the time of airing we enjoyed Korra, but never seemed to feel the anticipation for the next episode (except perhaps season finales) and often would let them build up to binge later. So we’d probably see Korra not so much as MUST watch, but a generally worthwhile watch.
