Super Hostile Online Beta 3.0
This version of SHO features a relaxation of game elements, with more generous XP and Gold drops. It will also feature more dungeons and content, more dojos and places of interest, as well as large areas of survival-mode land with different biomes for players to build on freely, for those who prefer housing similar to a more normal Minecraft experience.
Another very big change is the natural spawning of enemies has been disabled, and custom spawners have been placed all throughout the world for much finer control over enemy spawning. Say goodbye to the unpredictable nature of the natural spawning system.
This update is in line with my main goal of erring on making things too hard or scarce, and gradually making them easier to obtain that sweet spot of game balance.
There have also been rumors of new player classes... what a horrible night to have a curse!
Super Hostile Factorio Alpha 1.0
You guys got a small teaser of my take on a Super Hostile Factorio experience earlier, and I have continued work on this mapping project, and while mapping in Factorio is not nearly as robust as Minecraft, I think a compelling and exciting experience can be crafted, that is a large improvement over the early game of Factorio. My goals for this project are to give the player early access to blueprints, because those are fun, and to cut out some of the early game repetitive grind, and replace that experience with a desperate fight for your life while you secure an area to build in, and try to scavenge for items that may allow you to leapfrog your tech tree ahead.
Super Hostile: Iceolation
This map is a bit of a deviation from my classic formula, featuring a new temperature mechanic, where you can slowly freeze to death if you don't wear enough clothing. I'm not sure how long this map will be, and I may abridge it compared to a classic 16-wool Super Hostile map, as the change in gameplay may not be for everyone. But as the snow falls, and your temperature keeps dropping, my goal is to make you feel on a knife's edge of survival in a frozen, unforgiving wasteland. Hopefully you can find a way to escape before you become a permanent addition to the landscape!
Super Hostile: Crossbone Coves
If Iceolation isn't for you, this is. This is a classic CTM experience, with a focus on polished areas and cool pirate enemies. You may also find some new gameplay additions from what I have learned while working on SHO. :)
