Something Doesn't Add Up About This Case - Peter Jackson

I spent a career investigating insurance claims, including mysterious disappearances of people on life insurance policies. This one does sound a little like a staged disappearance, but there is an apparent lack of any known motivation for this gentleman to “disappear” himself. Was he in some dire financial straits or under a criminal investigation? Seems unlikely in this case, from the info provided, but that info is pretty limited, so who knows? It’s a very interesting case.

2025-05-30 06:52:40 +0000 UTCPeter Jackson is no longer in Yosemite. Maybe he was never there! He vanished on purpose. He wanted to disappear and never go back to Mexico for some reason! No one who identified him really knew him and they were very vague. He sold California property so has money available. He might have told his son his plans, but that's unknown. The mysterious back packs had nothing to do with him missing. It might've been a ruse. He was never really seen in White Wolf Camp Ground. He actually disappeared a few days before he was ever missed. They found a lot of his food that was spoiled. He vanished without a trace because he never wanted to be traced! `Thank you, Nick for the great tour of Yosemite! I've camped there more times than I can count, but only once in White Wolf. My friend and I took a day hike from our camp down to the Tuolumne River. We hung around there for quite a while and then started back up. The minute we got on the trail, a thunder and lightning storm arrived. We were in the forest and we didn't know weather to hide or run all the way up to the camp or keep hiking at all. Then it.started to rain! Since we really didn't know what to do we just kept hiking and we made it back and survived. Your posts are all great, Nick! Please keep them coming!

2025-05-23 01:49:52 +0000 UTCThis case is a real mystery. There’s really no evidence that he was at the Park when you think about. No one saw him set his camp up No one saw him at his camp and trail hikers saw someone on the trail maybe it was him or maybe not

2025-05-20 16:25:14 +0000 UTCAll indications from the report are that Peter had two phone with him. One was just an older phone that he didn't use anything. That was the phone that was found in his car. The phone he actually used has not been found... unless it was in the backpack the NPS discovered, but we have no info about that.

2025-05-20 16:09:16 +0000 UTCwhat about the phone that wasn't his in the car or wherever, whose was it? why did he have it? where did that person go? and is that why the park thinks there might be foul play to investigate someday.

2025-05-14 17:14:53 +0000 UTCI know as a hotel owner. You’d be surprised how many people just decide to stay extra day and don’t tell you. It doesn’t always raise an eyebrow.

2025-05-14 17:12:11 +0000 UTCI was surprised that the park just kept ticketing the car instead of being concerned about where this guy was.
