2024-04-15 21:28:53 +0000 UTCLet me push back on the "there is NO way you make this drive by accident" Now I have an advanced STEM degree; have taught Boy Scout Orienteering, And been a Philmont map reader who called out when the signs are wrong; What I'm trying to say is that no one calls me dumb and many people say I have an amazing sense of direction and leadership skills. I grew up in North Central KS and both my Parents are from Kansas City; so we made that dive 2-5 times a year. So When I was 17 I literally had been in the car on the drive to KC around 50 times (maybe more, maybe less). The point is when you drive through Topeka you just stay on I-70 the whole way through. You don't get off I-70 in Topeka However I was driving at night and for some reason I brain farted and got off of I-70 in Topeka on the way home. My mom was like WTF. I was quite possible taking an exit I HAD NEVER BEEN ON BEFORE with a route I had taken and driven many times before; and didn't think anything of it till my mom asked what was wrong. Its been shown time and time again, when people get lost people do NOT make smart decisions, again "why not turn around?" could be they didn't think to because they were panicking. And then they get stuck behind Shone's car, he brandises a gun and they flew into the mountains. It also could be they got off to go to the bathroom and then got turned around and took the wrong turn, thinking they were taking the right turn and ended up on the pass. The point I want to make is, I've done a similar wrong turn by accident at night while not fully awake, Thus I see no reason for Jack couldn't make the exact type of wrong turn; then ego and being night not wanting to ask for directions leads to them on the mountain. At the same time could they have been lead off the road? We really don't know. My opinion is they took the wrong turn, ended up panicing and stuck behind Shone's Car. They rolled down the window to yell at Shone; something happens that causes them to panic even more and flee and we kinda know what happens from there.
