Announcement: Making a big game based on Amidst the Sky

In short
I'm making a sort of sequel to Amidst the Sky! It features the same main character and basic gameplay (challenging platforming, big mysterious world, moving through clouds and such) but it will:
- Contain way, way more content, set in a completely new world
- Have lots of new gameplay mechanics to play with
- Be much more varied visually, with many wholly different environments to explore
- Be just straight up better in every aspect (at least, that's the goal)
- Be released on Steam

In a bit longer than short
The game will be released on Steam, although I’m looking at other platforms as well. I say a “sort of” sequel, because the games can be played completely separately. The new one does start where Sky ended, but I don’t think that really matters because let’s be real here, the lore wasn’t ever explained anyway. Once again you will explore a huge floating world, but the themes will be more “out there”. You’ll see what I mean when development is a bit further. Right now I want the new game to be less linear than Sky, which I’d say was fairly linear. This should make exploration of the large world a more prominent feature.

It will take a huge amount of effort and time to develop. Years probably? I suspect only working on this nonstop would tire me out, so you can still expect some small games to release sometimes (although more rarely). That said, I’m stoked to be working on this.

Lastly, I am considering looking for a publisher at some point (couldn’t hurt to try). That might help marketing and perhaps porting to other platforms. But I realise I'm getting way ahead of myself.
