The Loaded Oatmeal Bowl with Pear Sauce

Right now our favorite thing to eat for breakfast is oatmeal with pear topping! It’s a loaded bowl with all the right ingredients to make you feel full and satisfied.

Don’t skimp on the toppings, they help bring the meal all together and adds dimension and texture in your mouth when chewing. Chia Seeds are loaded with Omegas, protein and zinc and they help you feel fuller. Raw pumpkin seeds are a favorite here too, I almost eat them daily. They are really good for cleansing out the intestinal tract of parasites. They are also packed with nutrients as well. Way too many for me to list here. Also, don’t be afraid of good quality butter. Butter has a bad rap because it's fat. But healthy fat is so good for you and good for your adrenals and your brain.

We enjoy this loaded bowl in the wintertime because our egg layers are taking a break while the weather is colder and days are darker and egg production is almost near a halt.

The Loaded Oatmeal Bowl with Almond Pear Sauce

Makes 2 bowls

For the oatmeal

1 1/2 cups rolled oats

2 1/2 cups your favorite milk

2 tablespoons maple syrup

1/4 teaspoon cinnamon

For the Pear Sauce:

2 pears, diced

1 or 2 tablespoon good quality grass fed butter

1/4 cup maple syrup

1/4 cup almond butter

Toppings:

Chia Seeds

Sliced bananas

Raw Pumpkin Seeds

Unsweetened coconut flakes

Directions:

For the oatmeal:

It’s always best to soak your oats overnight, it will help with better digestion. But if you forget and are in need of breakfast in a hurry, you can still make this recipe just fine.To soak, just place the ingredients for the oatmeal in a mason jar and into the refrigerator over night. In the morning, just heat on the stove top in a pot. Have extra milk on hand, I like my oatmeal creamy and not dry. I like to add at least 1/2 cup more.

If you forgot to soak jus place all the oatmeal ingredients in a pot and cook low and slow.

For the Pear Sauce:

In a small pot, place the diced pears in with the butter and cook down so that the pears are softened and the butter is melted. Cook on low.

Add the almond butter and stir constantly, keep the temp on low. When you have like a sauce like consistency, add the maple syrup. Be careful not to burn it. When it is warmed thoroughly it is ready.

When your oatmeal is all the way cooked or heated all the way through, serve into bowls and then drizzle the pear sauce over and top with toppings.

ENJOY and keep warm!
