It's Quiet. Too Quiet.

Beloved Patrons. I apologize for the radio silence around here!

I am deeply ashamed.

I will now take this opportunity to tell you a little about my Patreon posting thought process...

"I  can't believe I haven't posted on Patreon in so long. Whatever I post has to be REALLY good.
Hmm, this would be perfect, but the recording quality isn't very good.
There's gotta be something else I can post.
I guess I'll just go through EVERY SINGLE THING THE BAND HAS EVER RECORDED. "

(4 hours later)

"I'll finish going through this before work tomorrow morning."

(The day after)

"You know what would be REALLY good to post... this one thing that I'm not even sure still exists. I'll just find that real quick."

(2 hours later)

"I've searched everywhere and I can't find it. I'll text my fellow band members and see if they have a copy of it."

(The next day)

"I'm so upset with myself that I didn't post anything on Patreon yet. Now what I post has to be the GREATEST POST I'VE EVER MADE to make up for not posting in a while. If only I had more time in the day to make everything exactly the way I wanted it to be."

(The next day)

"I know that it doesn't have to be perfect. I should just post something and let it be what it is. Having "just okay" content is better than having no content. Why do I always do this to myself? I should know better by now. Why can't I just do what I know I should do? I think I just need some coffee."

(One cup of coffee later)

"Smart phones are evil. The internet is evil. Screens are designed to be as addictive as possible. I will not be manipulated. I'm cutting screens out of my life entirely."

(One week later)

"I haven't posted on Patreon in a while. Whatever I post has to be REALLY good."

And repeat.

This is no excuse for not posting in a while, but I thought it would at least be an amusing way to explain my creative struggles. (Creative types, does this process sound familiar to you?)

So please forgive me Beloved Patrons. And thank you SO much for your support.

An avalanche of new posts are coming VERY soon.

Thank you Tamara! We can't wait to play live again!

As a painter I 100% understand the process. I was quite excited to see an email though! I can’t add anything better said than Derrek though. Hope to see you guys play again soon! 🀞

Derrek, that's the best reply I could have asked for. Thank you so much for supporting us even through the lulls!

Pretty much anything you post is new to most--if not all of us. I'm thrilled to see pretty much anything. I like seeing the rough drafts of finished songs/demos/alternate takes. I wanna hear stories behind songs, simple or as complex as may be the case. But I also understand how hard it is to put something out there for many people to see, hear and judge. I can totally relate to your writeup here--I've been through the same thing many times. I love seeing tons of posts but I also don't mind when there's a lull and I'm happy to support a band I really enjoy. When there's a lull, I just assume you're busy living your life just like the rest of us and there's a peace in that. I don't want you guys getting burned out. Keep making music YOU love and pull that curtain back for us when you're ready. The odds are pretty good that we'll love it too.
