(May 2018 "Something New") - "Sky Chase"

Here's a warm-weather jam for ya!

If you're not that familiar with the album making process, there is a lot of waiting involved during the tracking and mix stage. That's where we're at now with the new Tea Club record. So while this album is being finalized,we’re still hard at work creating new music, Tea Club and otherwise.

Dan and I have been throwing around the idea of writing and recording video game music for a while now. This track, "Sky Chase", is an experiment in making that a reality. It was co-written between Dan and myself. It all originated from an old keyboard demo that Dan made around the time we were making Grappling. When we rediscovered it recently, I started to imagine what more could be done with it. So I decided to try my hand at developing it, adding new parts to it and recording it with more sophisticated software. Dan loved what I did with it, so he and I are using it as a launching point to begin developing electronic music for various media formats, especially video games (the other guys in the band might be getting in on this soon too)!

This is one in a pool of 20 or so recorded ideas floating around right now, and that pool is expanding literally every day! Dan and I are both running Logic out of our home studios, so we’ve been able to share ideas back and forth seamlessly over Google Drive. It’s almost like a form of Internet jamming in a weird way: he sends me some ideas, and then I respond to those ideas by reformulating and adding to them. It feels exciting to be able to create brand new songs and track a "new album" of sorts all simultaneously: it’s been a sort of mini creative revolution over here that’s been developing in the last 6 months.

Would you want to hear more of these types of songs here on Patreon? Let us know what you think of this in the comments below, cause we're making new stuff all the time!

(I also want to give a shout out to a small software company called Plogue which makes a plugin called Chipsounds, which I used for the drums and some of the pulsewave synth melodies on this track. We also used a drum synthesizer plugin called Tremor by FXSpansion and Omnisphere 2 by Spectrasonics.)

More Give Me More Give Me More Give Me

Hey that's awesome! Will do! :)

"Give me more of the same!"

Omg, guys, I'm a programmer, currently a second semester sophomore student for Computer Science at TTU, and I'm here for Game Design. Message me more about game music, I'd love to help make that videogame music a part of a video game!

Yes, would love to hear more video game music! “More give me more give me”
