But while I agree that a Rashford loan, Garcia (Joan) signing, and maybe a backup center back signing feels likely, I'm concerned that none of those actually helps us get closer to a CL trophy! I'd argue that we had plenty of firepower in attack and decent-enough goalkeeping from Tek this year, but where did we fall short? Our back line! And I'm not sure that a backup center back will necessarily help us here. It seems that we need a high-quality, tall, technical, and speedy defender more than anything else: a Van Dijk-like signing when Virgil first signed with Liverpool, for example. That addition plus a little bit more realism in crucial moments (i.e., a little bit deeper back line) would serve us much better IMHO.
