Progress Update: Leaps and Bounds!
Added 2017-08-25 05:50:24 +0000 UTCHello Scammer Fighters!
We have been making leaps and bounds with the ScamLess applications and site, which you should be able to tell from the previous update. Never has a whole framework this size been bruteforced into working so quickly, but hey, we need these scammers gone now!
We have completeled the visaul parts of the application and sites, and even most of the backend! However the next task to tackle is polishing off the Cuatom Call Filter Algorith. This feature is what sets us apart from the rest of the apps that are failing to stop these buggers, and of course having the best support group (YOU) helps too! This algorithm will have the ability to stop calls live time from coming to your phone even without a database or submits or ever seeing the number before! This all Happens through mining the data that is attached to numbers when they call, taking that informaction and running it through our algorithm, and having it make a logical decision on if this call should come through or not. This feature should take care of more than 75% of scam calls in our test runnings. Of course we still need to cover that 25%, and that is where the database and the community (YOU) come in!
If we keep on our fast pace and don't run into any large issues, we should have a beta ready for you patreons here in a few months! You will all receive a copy before anyone else and your feedback will be invaluable.
sadly with all the good news, there is bad. It turns out that iOS will not be able to run our algorithm and call blocking methods in the same smart way androids and other devices can even with their new callkit in iOS 10. You can see this today in other call blocking apps on iOS where they need to use hacky features just to function. We refuse to do this. We need to find a way to protect victims with iOS devices. We are going to try a test run to see if we can have our android users in a way, help the iOS ones in a crowd sourcing fashion, where they can occasionally send data to the server to send to iOS phones to help make up for their short coming. If this works we will absolutely update on this. If not we will go back to the drawing board for iOS.
As always thanks so much for the support! We are making a lot of progress and fast!
