In person the clear coating makes a huge difference! It really is like the crystal isn’t even there at times.

I have a Mecchaniche Veneziane with a blue AR coating on a domed sapphire crystal that is quite noticable. I think the flat crystal helps as you don't get the refraction that you get with domed.
