Dev Story: Bringing Where Thoughts Go to MR

This week I started prototyping what a Mixed Reality version of Where Thoughts Go could look like on the Magic Leap. It's been something I've been thinking about for a while and I never quite knew how to approach it from a pacing standpoint. What are the gameplay/progression loops that feel natural in a context like that and how do you keep the feeling of "exploration" and "discovery" of a world alive in a MR context?

The answer seems to have users build the environment gradually, without fully knowing what's going to come out. Give them creative agency, but not complete control - this makes creative acts a mystery in it of themselves.

In my first test, players can turn their space into a fantasy landscape with a magical brush that grows plants... and as you create the world, the little thoughts come from its sections!

This felt good and it's a good start. It also ties the development of the world with your progression in the narrative, which is nice. More updates coming out soon.
