Curves and bars and air filters

Aggregate Runtime - Curves?

Every now and then I pull  up my Aggregate Runtime chart and flip a switch just to have a little fun. That switch does this:

I've debated back and forth on how to display this data for a while, but I ultimately always end up sticking with the bars. Why? Mostly because it's easier to read. Take a look at the small aux runtime on January 20th. It's very clear in the bar graph, but a tiny little hump would be tough to see on the curvy version. I won't deny the curves look better, but I hate the idea of making data harder to analyze than it has to be.

Which version do you prefer?

Filter Info

Someone sent me an email this weekend asking if they could see how many hours their fan had run since the last filter replacement. It actually ended up being a perfect test case for some backend changes I've been making for the Home Efficiency Update, so I went ahead and built it out to test things. This info is in the "Filter Info" menu of the System card. There's not much to it, but the suggestion to include runtime was really clever!

Comments

Yes, if the ecobee doesn't report the fan as running then that time won't be included. I *could* technically make an educated guess based on how much empty data I have but I currently do not.

Are the current outages affecting the Runtime on the new Filter Info menu? (I would think yes.)
