Patreon and Channel Changes, please read.

Some of you may already have heard that I am making a lot of changes on Patreon, these will happen over the coming months.

Basically I am trying to get totally free of Youtube Advertising for my income as it is limiting me in my creativity and also the games that I WAB.  For example doing the retro reviews this past few weeks has cost me around $400 in lost earnings. Had I instead opted to do Bulletstorm, Bayonetta and Yookafuckinglaylie I would be a lot better off financially. (I may still do bulletstorm) I deliberately chose not to do these games as they totally do not appeal to me at all and I know everyone would just abuse me for disliking them.  I also knew people wanted me to do some retro games and I think they add value to my channel.

I am still going to do new games, am currently thinking about Sniper 3 this month and am definitely doing DOW3, Outlast 2, Normandy 44 and all the really big game releases.

I have also had to cut loads out of my recent WAB videos as Youtube are starting to flag any video that is not advertiser friendly and demonetise them.  I can't allow this as without the YT money i would be unable to live but I hate that it's effecting what I review and how I review them.  

Currently I am in a position where I need both Patreon and YT to live, my monthly expenses are around $3000 thats everything I need to live, rent, poll tax, food, water, heating, electricity, tax, national insurance, car payments (a shitty little seat) car insurance, petrol, broadband fiber, pension fund, one visit to the movies per month, one meal out per month and the purchase of all the games I WAB.  I have to work about 70-80 hours to get this at the moment.  I only just manage to meet this on a monthly basis but having to play safe with my words, being careful with the games I select is  shit.

I hate that I am now over a barrel with Youtube, having to watch every word, having to make sure I WAB games that give me large view counts so i get paid.  I want to be free of YT, I want to try and get all my earning through Patreon.  I am not asking you guys to pay more, you guys are doing your bit and I thank you for it. I am just saying that from now on am going to put you guys first and foremost in what i do for this channel.  I want to get to a place where I don't care if I only get 10k views per video as long as the people viewing it are getting what they want, that means you guys. I want to reward the people that value my content the most, sure it would be awesome if YT just let me do what I want but them days are now long gone, times change and I must change with the times.  I always said I would never put my WAB videos behind a paywall and I won't but I do need to make changes in the hope that I can get my hands free again.  

My Dream is to cut down my hours to about 50 per week as I really can't sustain the work rate long term.  I want to be able to say exactly what i want without fear of YT flagging my content, they already flagged one video, I can't afford it to happen again.  I want to be able to devote time to interviewing devs I want to be able to get in the car, drive to London or fly to E3, arrange all the interviews in advance and spend time there doing it, knowing that am still being paid.  If I did this now I would be screwed as I would not be able to create any videos for a week or two which would cripple me.  

You guys are pretty much the channels heart, without you I would not have a channel at all and I really appreciate everything you do from the $1 guys to the people that donate $9,000,000 per month ;)

First change is now live, I have added a poll to which I will add a selection of games and you can choose which one I WAB next, it's mainly for Retro games at the moment but this may change in the future.  First poll will be live tonight depending on which tier you belong.
