Who would have thought learning about an intense level of corporate irresponsibility, bloodshed and horror would be so fun. I thank you all for helping make our longest episode ever possible.

Sincerely, if you like this show enough to help assist it financially, I want you to thank yourself. We are all in this together.

Unrelated: the next four episodes are listener requests...

You just turned me onto a new show. Right up my alley too. Early birthday present. Thanks Oliver!

There's another podcast, Against The Odds, that did a series on that fire. It was very interesting, and of course, heartbreaking.

Exactly. Exactly. Exactly. Like you took a page out of my childhood diary.

Hey Lauren, I have a love/hate relationship with your whole story, but at least you made it out in one not-entirely-crispy piece. A good utility provider can really gaslight you into thinking you were living your best life and bam, you realize you're actually living in one of the bad timelines or alternate universes. Also, I miss me when I'm not around too.

I also loved the Scholastic book fair as a kid! I'd circle like half the books in the catalogue and my mom would make me narrow it down to maybe 3, depending on the price. She was pretty generous about it, probably because there are worse things a kid can want than a bunch of books. The only downside was that they tended to take forever to actually be delivered. I'd forget what I even ordered by the time I got them, but it was usuay a pleasant surprise.

I lived maybe 45 min south of the town of Paradise. Where I lived we had to wear masks (before 2020 😂) because the air was so bad. My dog is named ash because when we got her there was ash literally falling from the sky. A friend of mine and I went to help out at paradise after the fire and it was really shocking. This is my favorite podcast, and this by far has been my favorite episode- I escaped California last year in large part due to just how crazy PG&E were making me feel.. rolling brown outs, and then making gas generators illegal 😑😑🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️ Thank you for giving me a little validity, and as always, love your show- and we miss you when you aren't around! Lauren
