How serendipitous that this series landed on Christmas exactly because it seems perfect to release our episode on It's a Wonderful Life. Some say, the best Christmas movie ever? A bit overrated?

2024-12-29 20:02:09 +0000 UTCAs someone who grew up in a small town vs a city, that’s a huge reason why his George’s constant sacrifices/not leaving to explore works so well. He feels such a responsibility to his family and community to help them and resist Potter. Obviously it’s just how you interpret George’s actions - whether it is a lack of courage or a desire to always accommodate/help those around him - but I think I never considered it as a “feeding into capitalism” POV. Obviously people should know they should follow their dreams and desires, but there are just as many people in the world who feel so called to acts of service. But Joe also poses a POV I’ve never heard about this movie before! Good listen, and happy holidays you guys!
