Spit and Polish

Braytech is known for its attention to detail through its interface and expression of function. This month, I was able to get the "Mac Catalyst" version of the app running, enabling the iOS app to act as a desktop app for Mac users.

Websites have come a long way. They can enable indistinguishable experiences. Braytech runs the same code everywhere, albeit aided by native APIs in specific contexts such as iOS and Android for widgets and push notifications.

Anyway, I just wanted to take a moment to formally acknowledge the app's excellent position.

Experience

I've been spending a lot of time recently, investing into the smaller user interactions, and ensuring the experience is a good one for users of all devices.

There's many new little features such as right-clicking a seal on Triumphs screen to pin it to the top of the list, recaptured screenshots of items with incorrect images or violations of consistency, as well as additions to custom nodes such as Collections Sets. I could list them verbosely, but that's probably better left to the change log. Although, I am particularly fond of the work I did to reflect enhanceable perks on weapons.

Depression

I've been really hitting a wall this entire month. Normally my bouts with depression only last about a week before I get myself back on track and then I function above it for weeks at a time. Lately, it's just... I eventually roll out of bed, perform the usual morning functions such as shower, hydrate, [...] Not long after, I'm battling the desire to roll back into bed to return to sleep.

I'm told this is not normal. 😅

It's so hard. Most of my social functions have also been paused–I just don't want to reply to anyone. It sucks.

If you have anyone in your life who suffers from depression, who you've not heard from in some time, remember to check in. Often, these offers are seemingly ignored all together, but it's seen and it serves as an opportunity to get help when needed. There's a lot of guilt felt by the depressed despite the fact it's not a choice.

I'm rambling. Let's sandwich method this up.

New logo

Braytech has a new animated logo and it's sick. You'll see it on the main loading screen, mostly only when Bungie deploys new manifest content.

A friend helped me decipher some of the math stuff and together we learnt new tricks.
