Dev Build Update: Smashers App Wrapped (Jan 3rd, 2025)

Hey everyone!

Happy New Year! With 2024 now in the books, we're excited to launch last year's Smashers App Wrapped.

What's in Wrapped?

A lot! We managed to pack in just over 30 pages of stats views, breaking down trends across your event attendance, placements, seeds/SPR, winrates, and character matchups. We even compare this year's stats back with previous years to highlight your progress as a player.

Plus, wrapped can be filtered down to offline, ranked, and major contexts.

What's Next (for Wrapped)?

Wrapped 2024 is now available for all patrons, and will be available for free users soon. They will be able to see their own Wrapped and the Wrapped for a select group of ranked players. Patrons can see every player's Wrapped.

We're hoping the public build will get approved by Apple/Google for the middle of January. This is unfortunate timing, but the app store approval process takes longer during/after the holidays and a Jan 1st launch just wasn't in the cards this year. Luckily, this will not be the case for next year.

Speaking of next year, we're aiming to add percentile based stats to Wrapped 2025. Ie:  "You entered 200 events this year, that's more than 99% of players!" or "You were in the top 0.5% of captain falcon mains".

What's Next?

Our current priorities are:

• Make more paid features available in app

• Add vods to the app

• Finally, finally build the startgg Write API stuff for our organizer tier patrons

• Prepare to expand into FGC titles
  

Beyond that, I've started contemplating how we can incorporate the "stories/wrapped" UX into other places in the app. For example, I think we can use stories to catch a user up on a H2H in a way that the regular H2H Sheet can't.
