A Cryptid's Carol Part 2 - Is our past ugly?

Are the title cards distracting, should I skip the taglines and stick with just the names? I think I could have some fun with them, but each clip is so short I'm worried about them distracting people from what's being said.

It does distract me as i was still thinking on the meaning of the descriptions in the box and missed out the story but no worries as I played it again to concentrate on the mesage

Google Mary Renault's books 'The King Must Die' and 'The Bull From The Sea' - they're the life of Theseus, told in glorious, unforgettable detail.

I like the subtitles, even though I have to pause in order to read them. I'd have to pause just the same even if the subtitles didn't clash with the spoken text, so it's fine either way - the Pause button is my faithful friend, because almost everything onscreen flashes past faster than I can take it in.

I personally like them, but I can see why others find them distracting. If there is a way to make them stay, that’d be very cool.

They’re distracting I prefer not knowing their names and just feeling the characters vibes if that makea any sense. And knowing who they are by intuition, they’re not proper nouns or personal names so its not that necessary. Its quite obvious for mermaid, mother nature, etc etc.

I like the titles, but I wish they were up for longer so I didn't feel pressured to read them. I think it would enhance the 'news interview' vibe a bit if they were up for the full time that the character was being interviewed.

I like the taglines, they made me smile (particularly GZ and mermaid). Though I did go back a second time to read them because they weren’t up for long and I wanted to enjoy the message the first time. It’s also useful for people like me who don’t always know the characters so I can go away and learn about them. Like right now I’m off to Google Theseus.

Yep, I think they can be distracting. Part of the distraction stems from the fact that they are there, and then disappear. I think an idea could be to make them smaller, and keep them during the whole clip. Also. Would be less distracting if they appeared always in the same spot of the frame :)'

One obvious solution I just though of would be to integrate the name into the first line of the subtitles. so it would be "Dwarf: Trapped between the...". I can keep the graphic title cards in my back pocket for times when they would work without being distracted.

Wowser, I love the tile subtitles but they are distracting. I can’t listen and read alternative text at the same time, so I either read the tile and missed the start or missed the tile and heard the start, or half read/heard and missed both. Oops!

I think if I did just the names I could have them up for a much shorter time and probably just leave a 1.5 second pause before they start talking so there's no overlap between title card and dialogue.

I love them, they are almost like little Easter eggs in the open. I’ll probably watch once through listening closely and then through again to pick up on any title card or background details I missed

I do find them distracting unfortunately, they could be good in a fun little re-edit of footage, but I can't read them and listen to the story at the same time. Even just having the names is distracting
