Long-winded rant, feel free to skip. Status update later.

As some of you may know, when I was reinstated after a week long process in which communication was scarce at best, the reinstatement email included the following paragraphs:

To reiterate a line from my initial message: "You cannot fund or link to any site that includes explicit depictions (spoken, visual or written) of this type of content." This includes direct messages to your patrons.
Since incest and the sexualized depiction of minors are the themes of your game, we suggest that you render your characters in a way that they are unmistakably perceived as adults, as well as alter the theme of incest that is in your game.

Now to me, that clearly reads that I am being warned not to post my game in its current state. It's also unclear what preview renders I can post, thus the lack of them since. As the rep makes a patently false claim that "the sexualized depiction of minors [is] the [theme] of your game," it is thoroughly unclear what she considers to be "unmistakably perceived as adults." The only character that was specifically mentioned was Kaitlyn, who certainly looks no younger than the vast majority of characters in the 100s of other DAZ-based games on Patreon. So do my other characters, unmentioned, look old enough to meet her particular, apparently atypical standards? I have no idea.

So what to do? Well, contact "Trust and Safety," of course. A week or so ago, Jack Conte, CEO and cofounder of Patreon, posted A Note to Our Adult Content Creators (the post is subtitled Here’s the email we sent today to our Adult Content creators; incidentally, I never received that email). Among other points, Mr. Conte states:

We don’t believe in making sweeping generalizations or decisions about creators’ livelihoods. We avoid broad questions like “Is this OK, or is that ok?” A rep will look at each case and its context one-by-one. For anyone who has any questions or concerns about their page, you can speak to a human being (literally, you can always talk to a human) who will work with you to figure out how to update your page so it works with the guidelines.

Stating that the theme of my game is the sexualized depiction of minors while surely having never played it sounds kind of like a sweeping generalization to me, but I'll overlook that. What I really want to point out, for now, is the section which I have emboldened.

As I was saying, I had and have no idea what is acceptable to post as I have no idea what this particular rep considers unacceptable. I have a pretty good idea on what the consensus is from looking at the other pages that have either remained untouched or were suspended and quickly reinstated with little-to-no changes. But I don't know what biases or preconceived notions this particular rep might harbor that skew the perception of my work so far from that consensus. So I put in a ticket to "Trust and Safety." Last Friday.

After receiving no response I put in another ticket today. Patreon has closed for the day, which means it will be at least 9 days of waiting for a response. When Mr. Conte says, "literally, you can always talk to a human," I suppose he is technically correct; just, apparently, not a human employed by Patreon.
