We present to you Smile, Darn Ya, Smile!, a sort of examination at our current dystopia in film, particularly regarding the trend of movies acting as giant commercials for monolithic IP holders. Fun stuff! We begin by looking at Who Framed Roger Rabbit, an actual great movie with a vision and genuine heart, and discuss how it holds on its own merits as a comedic, cynical noir film while also juggling entire truckloads of cartoons and pulling off some of the most virtuosic special effects filmmaking we've ever seen.
