On this episode of Podcast of the Planet of the Apes, Nicky and Wyatt dig into the hugely impressive Rise of the Planet of the Apes, an unlikely modern reboot of a long-running film series that actually manages to measure up to the original films that inspired it. This is no vaguely racist Tim Burton shitshow. No, instead this is a film featuring cutting-edge performance capture technology that dives deep into themes about both animal rights and the prison system, blossoming in a story about brotherhood forged in misunderstanding. This thing's good! Even if some of the casting choices are strange. We dive into all of this and even more, while my dog whines for some unknown reason for like 30 seconds early on.
Once again, as always, thank you all for being patrons at the 5 dollar tier! We really appreciate it and always want to repay that kindness in giving you some good podcasts to listen to during your week. Hopefully you're all doing well and we'll see you again next week with another Discuss All Monsters.
