Patreon monthly billing migration. progress so far.

Alright, first off, how will the tiers look like after the migration?
After some feedback from other artists and creators and some heavy thinking, I've settled in these monthly tiers, and their rewards:

$5 tier - Access to sketch comics (4x month, if not more), and early access to completed Q&As.

$10 tier - the previous rewards, plus access to (up to 3x/month) after-hours comics (the standard ones! not guest after-hours drawn by other artists).

$20 tier - the previous rewards, plus... basically everything else:
-1x/month guest after-hours page.
-Input on after-hours comics
-Your name in the credits of after-hours comics.
-Access to the commission work of that month (typically 10 pics), high res, no ads.
-Any assorted artwork I produce that doesn't fall into the previous categories (i.e. the occasional miruko) high res, no ads.
-Access to the discord server.

(The archive reward remains as it currently stands, $250 throughout your lifetime)

All in all, my goal is to make the $20 tier as attractive as possible, while keeping after-hours comics (which i think it's what most of you are here for) as affordable as i can. under the $20 tier, you'd end up getting each month: 4 sketch comic pages, 1 guest after-hours page, 3 after-hours pages, 10 commission artpieces, and 8-10 Q&As each month. I find it a rather reasonable proposition.

I've been going back and forth (rather slowly for my taste) with patreon support. They say the migration happens via a multiplier. So I chose a multiplier of 2x, and all my current tiers will multiply by 2, and be set to monthly, coming may 1st (they technically said may's first week, but i'm hoping its may 1st). so the $1 per page tier becomes $2 monthly, $5 becomes 10, and 10 becomes 20. Once that's done, I can create the new $5 tier, or add any tiers I want. I'd like to get rid of the $2 tier eventually, or just leave it as a tipjar tier 🤔 we'll see.

On monthly caps
Apparently, once the migration happens, patreon will process your tiers like this:

say, for example, you're pledging $5 per creation, with a monthly cap of 1 creation(or $5 a month max).
Patreon will grab the multiplier I chose (2x) and apply it to your tier, so you'll appear in the $10, yet you will only be billed $5.

I know a large majority of you have monthly maxes set up. I unfortunately won't deliver rewards unless you pay the full price of the tier, so once the migration happens, I'll start filtering out my messages to only deliver rewards to people paying the full price.

Ideally I'd want to ask you to set your monthly max up to the future tier's value. (ie if you're in the $5 tier, set it to $10 monthly max, if you're on the $10 tier, set it to $20) But it's really up to you. You guys are already doing a lot just by being here.

Lastly, there's the matter of how many comics i'll be able to produce with a reduced budget (as, alas, I have a fix amount of money I must produce to stay afloat, and if patreon isn't providing it, i'll have to do more commission work instead), specially since I imagine the patronage amount will take some time to recover, but that's a topic i'll talk about on a later post.

That's all for now. I'm aware many of you already told me you might not be able to afford a different pricing, and that's understandable. I can only make my work and my offering as attractive as possible, and hope for the best. Still, I hope I can count with your support on this leap forward! 🙇‍♂️
