It's interesting to note that the "please, Carol"s started to get out of sync at the end, I believe that's the first time we've heard that happen. I'm not sure what to make of it, I think it was genuinely scared. Maybe like Severance's innies, the hive's consciousness is functionally still a child. That would explain the eagerness to please and silly innocence. They possess all the *knowledge* in the world, but the hive as a "person" is a brand new being. Curious to see how they collectively develop as a character over the series

Yeah in the first episode the lab scientists stated they tried using other animals and they got bupkist so they were trying with rats as a last resort. I think rats are similar to humans in a lot of ways. And I think everyone's opinion about any art form is felt collectively so those fans of Carol's book would feel the same way about it as those who love Shakespeare's works.

Mom, they read my comment on TV! 😁

I don't think the virus affects animals, but I believe they can be a carrier of it. In ep2, we heard some of the other immune say that the hive mind got mauled by freeing the tigers and lions. If the animals were a part of the hive mind, I would assume they would be non-violent as well. Imagine a vegetarian lion lmao, the entire population would starve
