Talamasca: The Secret Order - Ep.1X3 "The Task at Hand" UNCUT & UNCENSORED

Ok, ok see I kinda think we're tryin' to cook a bit now, ya know? While nowhere near as laughable as the previous episode, I'm still finding myself very much entertained by the shenanigans of Guy and now Jasper. Funny part? 3 episodes in and we are already halfway done lol

I'm in for the entire journey though! Let's see what kind of stakes we can raise and characters we can develop in the span of just 3 more hours >:D

It's slightly painful to watch something written by an American set in the UK every now and again "Thank you for your service"😒. I'm finding Helen suuuuper annoying as a character. I'm waiting for more Guy and Jasper interaction, seems like it'll be fun!

Just fyi cuz you were looking down but there’s a flashback of Helen and her twin at their parents’ gravesite. I might have missed it but I don’t think you’d said anything about her being a twin.

I’ve watched up until episode 5 and I’m liking it more as it goes on. And yes, better than Mayfair, lol. It’s definitely fun. Glad you’re watching it!

I really don’t know what to think of these episodes… but I’m positive if it wasn’t for the company I wouldn’t be continuing watching it. I like some parts, I like this UK based production that use real locations (at least it looks like it), it gives a nice vibe, and some of the storylines… it is just that I haven’t connected emotionally with anyone or anything but the girl that died, and Jasper, because he has always been a charismatic sort in all his lives 🫣😸. But it is getting better. 🤞

This episode was a good start to a fun story that continues into Episode 4. To use your phrase, that episode really cooks. Jasper gets even more screen time, and he's so entertaining. William Fichtner is killing it in this role and elevating the whole show. It's definitely improving every episode. The commenter from last time is correct. Do not watch Queen of the Damned if you don't want Interview Season 3 spoiled.

I don't know if this episode cooked.. but.. it definitely turned on the burner. I'm back..?

I don’t think the show is a waste. It’s just… underbaked. It needed more time in the writers room, more takes for the actors, and more refinement in the editing.

Loved the last Helen / Guy scene. “Is that even your real name?” “Of course not!” 😂

Valaree

I love that Guy seems to have read Interview With the Vampire and took it as an instruction manual for vampire interactions 😂 "I'm not their fucking boy" - almost directly quoting Daniel Molloy, ha. And unpopular opinion probably but I don't hate Mayfair - it's not GREAT like IWTV - but it's a fun, dramatic, spooky time if you can get past some tone inconsistency, odd acting choices, and lack of tension (and ignore the book). Definitely a faulty adaptation of the source material, but since you haven't read the books you don't have to worry about that making your eye twitch at least.

Won't mention any names because you didn't pause to read the text of some of the burning books and who they're talking about so no spoilers but there's a cool easter egg in the burning library scene. One of the burning books looks like a copy of one of Anne Rice's books (written by a character we'll meet in season 3 in universe).
