Long, long time book fan here. That is not correct. It's not a change that older vampires can survive sunlight exposure for long periods of time. That is well-established in the books that they can and that how long they can is directly related to how old they are. It's also important to the plot in multiple books (can't say anything else without spoilers). The difference in the book and show lore is that vampires in the show can stay awake all day. In the books they can't. No matter how old they are they automatically start feeling the pull of sleep as the sun rises. Some older ones can fight it and stay awake a little bit longer, but not more than a few minutes after sunrise.

I think the guy Lestat killed with the books was an encyclopedia salesman. I don’t think he wrote the books himself.

And I’ll reiterate here what I said last time, Lestat kept Antionette around for 22 years. That’s so messed up. Loved rewatching with you both!

Dying of a broken heart 🤣. We wouldn't have any Vampires to interview. Edit: If Armand had not saved Daniel's life initially, Louis would not have had the opportunity to save him from Armand a few days later. Surely they both saved him. If it can only be Louis i.e. the second party that saved him, then don't we contradict ourselves when we say, Lestat saved Louis at the trial? It's kind of like in season 2 episode 6 where Daniel says, "You were gonna drain me, pal". SO WAS LOUIS, DANIEL! Often in this show more than one person is responsible/calpable and that's probably deliberate on the writers' part.

Lestat waxing poetic about New Orleans is such a good scene. You see his great passion.

Btw, Armand in the sunlight gagged book fans too—it’s actually not like that in the books (well, there are some that aren’t AS affected, but it’s not generally something they just grow out of). Fans were kinda split on the change, but Rolin does seem to like to keep book readers guessing, and it worked.
